Job Description:

As the TJ Maxx Creative Copywriting co-op at TJX, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a member of our internal creative team crafting content for various channels—retail (print), digital (EComm), and social media (Instagram, etc.). The Role: • Work as part of a fun, tight-knit team with all levels of talent: Creative Director, Associate Creative Directors, Art Directors, Junior to Senior-level Designers and Copywriters • Gain further exposure to our in-house creative team and marketing partners by attending collaborative meetings • Present your work to brand team partners and brand executives • Develop collaborative and conceptual experience by shadowing and/or partaking in larger scope projects, like seasonal campaigns • Gain hands-on experience seeing projects through from conception to completion: from kickoff meetings and brainstorm sessions to formal presentations and feedback rounds • Receive real-life experience working closely with the TJ Maxx Design Co-Op, your direct design peer, partnering on and completing projects together from start to finish The Opportunity: • The TJ Maxx creative team is looking for a talented marketing writer to join us for six months. • You will be responsible for helping with all things TJ Maxx marketing • On any given day, you might write an email, help brainstorm ideas for a seasonal campaign, shadow an in-store social shoot—the list goes on! Your role will include the following: • Writing on-brand marketing copy in our TJ Maxx tone of voice, across various channels: retail (print), email, site, social media, and more • Being hands on & working in a collaborative team environment—both on our internal creative team and with our brand, site, and PM partners • Developing critical professional & personal skills, including: strong communication, networking and relationships, time management, project management & of course, creative skills • Learning about the unique business model of TJ Maxx Who We Are Looking For: • A student eligible for an intermediate level co-op with a GPA of 3.0 or higher • Genuine interest in and passion for copywriting, collaborating, marketing, and fashion • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, social media platforms, proofreading, grammar • An individual who stays close on the latest fashion, social, and other relevant industry trends • A team player who collaborates well and enjoys being part of a fun, tight-knit team of talented copywriters and designers • Can positively and professionally take criticism and feedback • Finds copy/creative solutions that are smart and strategic • Candidates must have an interest in the fast-paced retail fashion environment • Exhibit strong attention to detail, organization and superior time management skills • Display effective verbal and written communication • Exhibit drive, resourcefulness, and a willingness to learn • Must have an online portfolio with relevant work examples • A big fan of our stores is a plus!
