ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Commercial Trucking Insurance Associate at Savvital, you will support a U.S.-based commercial insurance agency with a strong focus on trucking and transportation insurance.

This is a specialized position requiring hands-on experience with commercial trucking insurance, including new business quoting, renewals, policy servicing, and carrier coordination. The ideal candidate understands the unique requirements of trucking accounts and is comfortable managing insurance applications, policy documentation, endorsements, certificates, renewals, and day-to-day account requests.

You should have a solid understanding of the U.S. commercial insurance landscape, strong attention to detail, and experience working with insurance management systems, rating platforms, and carrier portals.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

New Business & Quoting

  • Handle new business submissions for commercial trucking and transportation accounts.
  • Review client information and exposure details to determine required coverage and underwriting information.
  • Complete and submit commercial insurance applications to appropriate carriers.
  • Obtain and compare quotes from multiple carriers.
  • Handle quoting, requoting, and follow-ups throughout the submission process.
  • Work with underwriters and carriers to obtain additional information, clarify requirements, and move submissions toward binding.
  • Ensure all applications and submissions are complete, accurate, and presented professionally.

Renewals

  • Manage the renewal process for trucking insurance accounts from initial preparation through completion.
  • Review expiring policies and identify changes in vehicles, drivers, operations, locations, coverage, or other exposures.
  • Prepare renewal submissions and obtain updated quotes when required.
  • Follow up with carriers and underwriters regarding renewal terms and requirements.
  • Communicate renewal updates and outstanding requirements to the agency team.
  • Track renewal deadlines and ensure accounts are processed on time.

Policy Servicing

  • Process day-to-day servicing requests for commercial trucking accounts.
  • Handle endorsements, policy changes, vehicle additions and removals, driver updates, and other policy transactions.
  • Issue and update Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
  • Assist with policy changes, cancellations, reinstatements, and other servicing needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date policy and client information.
  • Follow up with carriers to resolve outstanding policy and servicing requests.

Trucking Insurance Operations

  • Work with trucking-specific exposures, including commercial vehicles, drivers, motor carrier operations, and transportation-related risks.
  • Understand the documentation and underwriting information commonly required for trucking accounts.
  • Assist with gathering and reviewing information required for trucking submissions and renewals.
  • Ensure policy information accurately reflects the insured's current operations and exposures.
  • Identify missing or inconsistent information and follow up proactively.

Carrier & System Management

  • Submit applications, endorsements, and servicing requests through carrier portals.
  • Maintain accurate client and policy records within agency management systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews of account information to ensure records remain complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with carriers, underwriters, and internal agency team members to resolve issues and keep accounts moving.
  • Maintain organized documentation and follow-up records for all active accounts.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Commercial Trucking Experience

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in commercial lines insurance, with direct experience handling trucking or transportation insurance.
  • Experience working on new business quotes, renewals, and policy servicing for trucking accounts.
  • Understanding of commercial trucking insurance workflows, documentation, and underwriting requirements.

Quoting & Policy Servicing

  • Experience preparing commercial insurance submissions and obtaining quotes.
  • Experience processing endorsements, policy changes, cancellations, and renewals.
  • Experience issuing Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
  • Strong understanding of commercial policy documentation and account servicing.

Systems & Technology

  • Hands-on experience with insurance management systems and rating platforms.
  • Experience with Applied Epic, EZLynx, PL Rater, or similar platforms is highly preferred.
  • Experience navigating U.S. insurance carrier portals and submitting applications electronically.

Carrier Experience

  • Experience working with U.S. commercial insurance carriers and communicating with carrier representatives or underwriters.
  • Familiarity with carriers serving commercial trucking and transportation accounts is highly preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and renewal deadlines.

  • Experience specifically supporting commercial trucking, transportation, or motor carrier insurance accounts.
  • Experience handling trucking insurance from submission through binding and servicing.
  • Familiarity with trucking-specific coverage and documentation.
  • Experience working directly with U.S.-based insurance agencies.
  • Experience with multiple commercial insurance carriers and agent portals.
  • Experience managing a high volume of commercial accounts and time-sensitive requests.
