The Role

This position is responsible for leading a team of associates optimizing the customer experience at Fidelity, as it relates to IRS Pre-Approved Document Amendments. The Amendment Consultant provides document and ERISA compliance support to clients and investment professionals, who sell, market and service the 401(k)/403(b) retirement business. The Amendment Consulting team supports all WI markets, including TEM, and partners closely with the Legal, Implementation Project Management, Client Relationship Management, and Sales groups to ensure successful completion of Amendments.

  • Draft key objectives, strategies and apply the data to make business decisions

  • Accountable for the Amendment Consulting process, delivering in the service model and communicating the service needs with business partners

  • Lead, manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, business partners and stakeholder management for The Amendment Consulting process

  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the Amendment Consulting strategy.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • Experience managing operations teams, preferably in multiple site

  • Experience working in an Agile environment, preferred

  • ASPPA designation, preferred

  • You are comfortable working in an Agile environment

  • You have led successful process improvement projects – using the Agile methodology

  • Your ability to manage associates in a matrix structure

  • Skills (effective communication, able to work with teams, presentation skills) required for the role.

  • Leading client support teams

  • Managing to appropriate Key Process Indicators (KPI)

  • Coordinating associates across multiple teams

  • Resolving escalations to successful outcomes

  • Work with Business Partners to minimize risk

The Team

The Amendment Consulting team is part of the WI Implementation team within Workplace Investing (WI).

Pre-Approved Document Amendment support is offered across all markets within WI.

Services include:

  • Primary Client Contact for IRS Preapproved Document Amendment requests

  • Respond to technical and process related questions from clients and business partners

  • Participation in assigned projects as required

Stakeholders include our clients (Plan Sponsors), Managing Directors (Fidelity Relationship Managers), Senior Management, Legal, and Associates across Implementation and Internal Business Partners.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
