The team designs and delivers scalable analytics solutions - including advanced analytics, performance dashboards, benchmarking, data integration, automation, and AI-enabled tools - across financial, operational, and clinical use cases.

Position Summary:

The Data & Analytics team is seeking a Managing Consultant to support clinical quality analytics engagements. This role leads qualitative and quantitative workstreams that assess healthcare cost, quality, and performance using complex claims and related healthcare data. The Managing Consultant designs analyses, develops client-ready deliverables, manages day-to-day client relationships, and guides junior team members. The role requires strong technical judgment, healthcare subject-matter knowledge, and clear communication with client executives and internal leadership.

Travel Requirements:

Willing to travel consistently (20%), depending on project requirements and client expectations, is required for this position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical quality analytics workstreams, overseeing the design, execution, and quality review of qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Collect, integrate, validate, and analyze healthcare claims and related data to assess cost, utilization, quality, and provider performance.
  • Design data-driven analyses that support value-based care, pay-for-performance, and other clinical quality programs.
  • Develop reproducible data pipelines, analytic code, dashboards, reports, and visualizations using the required programming languages and technology platforms.
  • Translate complex findings into clear client insights, practical recommendations, and executive-level presentations.
  • Apply appropriate analytical methods and research healthcare quality measures, program specifications, and industry guidance when established approaches are unavailable.
  • Manage client relationships at the representative level and tailor communications to the role and technical knowledge of each audience.
  • Audit source data, analytic methods, and deliverables to identify inconsistencies, quality issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify next steps and practical workarounds, manage assigned tasks independently, and meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Mentor junior team members in analytic methods, healthcare data, clinical quality concepts, and quality-control practices.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in healthcare data and analytics, consulting, or a related healthcare industry role is required; experience at the manager level is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or equivalent experience in analytics, computer science, economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, public health, engineering, or another practice-related field is required.
  • Experience analyzing claims data, including Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR), Limited Data Set (LDS), Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC), Merative, Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), all-payer claims, or Medicare-Medicaid claims, is required.
  • Subject matter expertise in value-based care (i.e., analysis of cost and quality) or quality programs (e.g., pay-for-performance) is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Python, and SAS is required.
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub, Snowflake, and Tableau is required.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) data (e.g., Truveta), pharmacy data, provider data, or HealthVerity data is preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in hospital quality (e.g., AHRQ Quality Indicators, CMS 5-Star ratings, or U.S. News rankings) is preferred.
  • Experience with PySpark or Truveta Prose is preferred.
  • Experience with Tuva, Databricks, or VRDC is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly to client executives and internal leadership, are required.

Salary Range:  $120,000 - $165,000

Job title and compensation to be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Candidate must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
