Job description

WideOrbit is seeking a Managed Services Specialist to provide hands-on traffic operations and product support for the NHL managed services engagement. This role combines live sports traffic experience with deep knowledge of WO Traffic to support day-to-day execution across multiple team properties. You will work directly with NHL stakeholders, team representatives, and internal WideOrbit partners to process orders, build and finalize logs, manage copy and materials, coordinate schedule changes, reconcile broadcasts, and maintain accurate workflows from order entry through billing. This is an opportunity to apply your sports broadcasting and WideOrbit expertise in a highly visible, client-focused role where accuracy, responsiveness, and operational continuity are critical.

Here’s what success will look like:

  • Provide dedicated operational support for pre-game, in-game, post-game, and limited re-air broadcast logs across assigned NHL team properties.

  • Process traffic workflows in WO Traffic, including advertiser and agency profiles, rate cards, third-party and Playfly orders, program formats, materials, copy instructions, spot placement, preempts, makegoods, and credits.

  • Build, review, finalize, and deliver accurate broadcast logs in coordination with team approvals and master control deadlines.

  • Monitor inventory and sell-through, maintain inventory and product codes, and communicate potential placement or delivery issues before they affect air.

  • Coordinate materials and copy with teams, agencies, delivery vendors, and internal partners; produce dub lists, purge lists, and other required exports.

  • Manage frequent schedule and format changes associated with live sports, including cancelled or rescheduled games and modified logs, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Reconcile as-run logs, research discrepancies, execute approved corrections, and support invoice generation and account-period close activities.

  • Partner with NHL stakeholders, team contacts, Playfly, CTS, and WideOrbit teams to document business preferences, maintain clear ownership, and provide timely status updates.

  • Identify, document, and escalate product issues, workflow gaps, software defects, and enhancement requests with complete and accurate details.

  • Participate in recurring client meetings, maintain process documentation, and help create a consistent, scalable managed services support model.

  • Support general Product Support duties for other products and clients outside of the NHL season.

  • Serve as an escalation point for urgent issues that may arise outside scheduled support hours.

To thrive in this role, we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years of hands-on broadcast traffic experience supporting live sports programming, regional sports networks, professional or collegiate teams, or another deadline-driven sports media environment.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using and supporting WO Traffic, including order entry, formats, commercial placement, log preparation, copy/materials, reconciliation, and billing-related workflows.

  • Experience supporting multiple properties, stations, channels, or client groups with competing priorities and firm broadcast deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage last-minute schedule changes, preempts, makegoods, and log revisions accurately and calmly.

  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to investigate workflow or application issues, document findings, and partner with Product Support, IT, Development, or Product Management through resolution.

  • Experience working directly with clients or external partners and communicating clearly through email, virtual meetings, and documented status updates.

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work within a defined coverage schedule and provide occasional support outside standard business hours when game cancellations or schedule changes require urgent action.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based collaboration tools.

Location: This position can be based in any of our offices. Remote/Telecommute will also be considered. The role supports time-sensitive sports broadcast operations, with required support coverage between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
