Tax Processing Assistant II

Job Description Summary

  • Complete 500–750+ electronic tax return filings and payments per month, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Respond to jurisdictional notices, take corrective action as needed, and log all activity in Oracle Service Cloud.
  • Correspond directly with clients and taxing jurisdictions to answer questions and resolve filing or compliance issues.
  • Process, log, and track incoming mail, including jurisdictional notices, and maintain accurate records and reports for internal and external use.
  • Support new client onboarding by ensuring all required documentation and filings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update business information and filing records in accordance with established procedures and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in tax processing, administrative support, or a closely related field.
  • Basic working knowledge of tax forms, filing requirements, and compliance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to create, edit, and maintain spreadsheets and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and effective time management.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for correspondence with clients, taxing jurisdictions, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices, procedures, and detailed instructions in a structured, high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Oracle Service Cloud or a comparable case management or notice-tracking system.
  • Prior experience in a deadline-driven, high-volume processing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and resolve them efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a formal degree.

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $47,000.00 - $61,100.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
