Job Description

TELUS Digital AI Community

Our global AI Community is a vibrant network of more than one million contributors from diverse backgrounds who help customers collect, enhance, train, translate, and localize content to build better AI models. Become part of our growing community and contribute to the development of innovative AI technologies used by some of the world's largest brands.

Every day, billions of people search for music, shows, and apps across global platforms. They type a query expecting to find exactly what they're looking for. But those search results only make sense if AI understands not just the words people search for, but the cultural meaning behind them. Your deep knowledge of how people in your market actually consume media — which shows matter to which communities, how music preferences shift across regions, what streaming platforms mean to your culture — is the bridge between what people search for and what algorithms learn to recommend. That cultural translation is irreplaceable.

A Day in the Life of a Media Search Analyst

In this role, you will evaluate how well media search results align with real user intent across multiple search modalities. Your analytical judgment determines whether AI systems understand not just what people search for, but why they search, and whether the results truly serve their cultural and entertainment context.

  • Parse complex media intent queries across streaming platforms, music catalogs, and application ecosystems understanding that the same search term carries different meaning across regions and age groups
  • Validate multilingual asset metadata and cross-attribute search parameters (release dates, artist affiliations, regional availability, cultural context)
  • Evaluate search result relevance against detailed evaluation frameworks that account for local market nuance, regional preferences, and cultural interpretation
  • Apply structured reasoning to edge cases where metadata conflicts or cultural context shifts meaning
  • Provide detailed assessment feedback that trains media search algorithms to better reflect local culture and user intent

Why this matters: When media search algorithms understand local culture, discovery becomes accurate and meaningful. Listeners find the right music, viewers discover relevant shows, and cultural expression is reflected authentically in digital systems.

Why join the project:

  • Complete autonomy: Structure your contributions around your existing professional or academic schedule without predetermined hours or shift requirements
  • Fully remote environment: Work from anywhere with stable internet, using only standard equipment
  • Structured guidelines and resources: Access to detailed evaluation frameworks, media reference materials, and practical examples from day one
  • Dedicated support: Direct access to response channels for evaluation clarifications, technical issues, or administrative needs
  • Your cultural expertise is the qualification: Deep immersion in your local media landscape is the expertise this role depends on.
