Due to the growth of our HVDC business, we are currently looking for our next Site Installation Manager for HVDC & Substation Projects in the “Construction & Commissioning” function to participate in this energy transition.

Your Mission: Within our large scale HVDC & Substation Projects you are responsible for the Management of the Mechanical & Electrical High Voltage Installation activities, directly on our construction sites. You are leading on site a Team of specified Supervisors and you align the activities with the Site Manager, to whom you are reporting on site.

It is a Construction Site based role.

Our Construction sites are in Germany, Netherlands and for the Offshore Platform manufacturing in Batam (Indonesia).

Your first project is our 2 GW Project “Ijmuiden Beta” in the Netherlands, Maasvlakte.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

1. EHS

  • Support the implementation of the EHS Plan on site together with the Site Team
  • Ensure all Mechanical & Electrical installation activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

2. Quality Oversight

  • Implement quality control measures including implementation of Lessons learned, to ensure that the Mechanical & Electrical Equipment installed per GEV Quality standards
  • Ensure that the related Supervisors are equipped with the required documentation and test reports for their scope
  • Ensure that all required tools and materials are available for the installation activities
  • Raise Nonconformities and manage the rectification together with the Site Quality Team and other internal or external stakeholders/ suppliers

3. Planning & Coordination

  • Participation in the daily coordination meetings & manage interfaces between subcontractors
  • Prepare and coordinate the Mechanical & Electrical High Voltage Installation activities with the Site Management Team and other internal and external stakeholders (Erection Subcontractor) to ensure that works are performed in accordance with project schedules & work procedures  
  • Providing guidance, training and support as needed to the Erection subcontractor and the Supervision Team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the installation activities together with the Site Team and internal or external stakeholders/ suppliers
  • Ensure that Mechanical completion of the M&E scope is done, Punch List items are closed and system turnover to the Commissioning Phase can be realized

4. Cost Management & Reporting

  • Verify installed quantities of the Erection subcontractor and review the invoices
  • Support the Site Manager by reviewing change notice proposals to establish cost and impact to the total subcontract value, budget, and overall project forecast
  • Support the Site Manager for the preparation of the Progress Report

Your Profile:

  • Technical education, preferably with a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in electrical installation works in large scale HVDC, substation or Power Generation projects with at least 5 years experience in the relevant field.
  • Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and stop unsafe work.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to provide clear verbal and written reporting (English required).
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to recommend and approve corrective actions.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites
