Job Description

Join the transformation of our Global Procurement function! This is a high-impact, newly created role designed to scale Nielsen’s procurement operations globally.

This position contributes to a strategic corporate initiative aimed at expanding the Contract Management vertical within the Global Procurement function. The Global Procurement team is dedicated to significantly enhancing Nielsen’s long-term profitability and supporting sustainable growth while effectively mitigating global risks. As an essential member of the team, you will oversee the Contract Management and Administration process across all third-party spend categories. This involves collaboration with the Contract Manager and close coordination with the Legal organization to manage supplier contracts and maintain contract databases.

You won't just be running reports; you will take end-to-end ownership of key contracts, develop sourcing plans, and maintain strategic supplier relationships. This role necessitates a highly collaborative and data-driven individual capable of managing contracts at scale, possessing strong influencing and interpersonal skills to help achieve Nielsen’s objectives through effective communication. The successful candidate will report directly to the Contract Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Participate in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements for equipment, materials, products, or services. Evaluate contract compliance and advise stakeholders on contractual rights and obligations.

  • Legal & Stakeholder Collaboration: Proactively engage in robust, effective collaboration with cross-functional internal teams to strategically address complex challenges. Respond to legal requests from stakeholders and vendors, preparing summaries and conveying legal concepts in adherence to internal review policies and legal guidelines.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate enduring internal stakeholder relationships to guarantee the congruence of strategic objectives, facilitate transparent communication, and promote a unified strategy for prompt, successful transaction resolution.

  • Database & Repository Oversight: Adeptly manage contract documentation for internal review, maintaining an internal repository and tracking system for all supplier contracts and databases.

  • Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead strategic procurement activities, including the assessment, selection, and negotiation of external service providers (terms and conditions) to ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, and enterprise policies.

  • Process Optimization & Data Insights: Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions through deep analytics, proactively identifying opportunities for process optimization, system improvements, and organizational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or contract administration within a corporate legal department or supporting a procurement function with contracting responsibilities.

  • Contract Expertise: Proficiency in the review, negotiation, and execution of supplier contracts, including Master Agreements, Amendments, Order Forms, and Statements of Work (SOW).

  • Education: Preferably holding a Law Degree, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent.

  • Technical Savvy: Working knowledge of Ariba, P2P platforms, or spend analytics applications. Familiarity and practical experience with technology solutions designed to enhance Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) through generative AI capabilities is advantageous.

  • Analytical & Risk Management: Excellent decision-making and analytical abilities focused on minimizing risks, navigating change, and delivering cost-saving initiatives.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, large suppliers, and internal leaders.

  • Global Mindset & Agility: Collaborative team player comfortable in a fast-paced global environment; flexible with working hours and capable of managing multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
