Job Posted: September 2026

Location: India

Hi there!

We're looking for a Director, India to serve as the senior-most, India-based leader of Zapier's India entity, acting as both a statutory Board Director and General Manager. This is a pivotal role at a formative stage of our India presence: you'll ensure full legal, tax, and regulatory compliance for our India entity while also serving as the bridge between Zapier's global strategy and its execution on the ground.

You'll report to Ryan Roccon, our Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, and partner closely with our India-based managers, our Operating Committee, and our external advisors at Deloitte. You'll own India operations as the accountable local leader, drive delivery and performance across India-based functions, and represent the entity to auditors and regulators. If you're looking for a role where you can build governance rhythms and operating discipline from the ground up while being the trusted face of a company's India presence, this is it.

About You

  • You have 15-20+ years of experience, including 5+ years in India site leadership, GM, COO, or country-head-type roles for multinational companies.

  • You have strong business acumen and the ability to manage stakeholders in a global, matrix organization, where functional teams report to global leaders while maintaining a dotted-line relationship to you.

  • You have strong knowledge of and exposure to financial, legal entity, and statutory compliance, audit, tax, and transfer pricing, gained through demonstrated experience working with Big 4 firms and/or legal counsel on India entity matters.

  • You have strong people leadership and hiring instincts, with experience across hiring, performance management, employee relations, and exits in an Indian context.

  • You're comfortable taking on statutory director responsibilities and signing off on board and compliance documents, including the personal liability that comes with it.

  • You build positive working relationships and trust quickly with India-based teams, delivery managers, and the global executive team, and develop a deep understanding of the business, strategy, operations, and priorities.

  • You're an effective communicator who can drive results and hold your ground in a complex, matrixed environment while remaining people-focused.

  • Nice to have: prior experience setting up or scaling a Global Capability Center in India.

Things You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Zapier's India operations and global leadership, ensuring alignment and coordination and escalating key issues to the executive team.

  • Lead overall India operations, translating global strategy into local execution and providing regular updates to US leadership.

  • Serve as the senior-most site leader for all India-based employees, establishing governance rhythms and driving a high-performance, high-autonomy, values-driven 100% remote team.

  • Act as a statutory Board Director for Zapier India: attend board meetings, approve minutes and resolutions and sign statutory filings.

  • Ensure full statutory, tax, and financial compliance of the Indian legal entity, and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and Indian regulatory authorities.

  • Partner with Deloitte and internal finance on tax filings, audits, transfer pricing, and other regulatory matters.

  • Own all India people decisions: hiring, compensation, performance, and terminations, while functional managers continue to run day-to-day work for their teams.

  • Partner with HR on people strategy, talent decisions, employee relations, and local policy implementation, and ensure compliance with Indian labor law, including POSH and state-specific requirements.

  • Manage local vendor relationships for Zapier's India presence.

  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate key risks to Zapier's India operations.

How to Apply

At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.

Education is not a requirement for our roles; however, if you receive an offer, you will need to include your most recent educational experience as part of our background check process.

After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!

Zapier is an equal-opportunity employer and we're excited to work with talented and empathetic people of all identities. Zapier does not discriminate based on someone's identity in any aspect of hiring or employment as required by law and in line with our commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base. Zapier will consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, consistent with applicable laws.

Zapier prioritizes the security of our customers' information and is dedicated to adhering to all applicable data privacy laws. You can review our privacy policy here.

Zapier is committed to inclusion. As part of this commitment, Zapier welcomes applications from individuals with disabilities and will work to provide reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact jobs@zapier.com.

Application Deadline:

The anticipated application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later, or if the position is filled.

Even though we’re an all-remote company, we still need to be thoughtful about where we have Zapiens working. Check out this resource for a list of countries where we currently cannot have Zapiens permanently working.

Apply once. Then go straight to the hiring manager.
