The Global Finance & Food Systems Department, within Friends of the Earth's Food & Agriculture team, works to end Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) financing for industrial animal agriculture and increase public investment in equitable, humane, and climate-resilient food systems. Through the global Stop Financing Factory Farming Campaign, the department advances MDB policy and project advocacy, strengthens Global South and frontline leadership, promotes agroecological alternatives to industrial agriculture, and builds the partnerships and infrastructure needed to advance global food-system and development-finance reform.
Position Summary
The Coalition Secretariat and Engagement Associate coordinates the operational functions of the global Stop Financing Factory Farming (S3F) Campaign, supporting Friends of the Earth's role as coalition secretariat. This position is responsible for coalition operations, budget and grant administration, vendor and contract coordination, governance support, and network engagement that enable effective implementation of international advocacy initiatives.
As an experienced individual contributor, this role manages complex projects and operational priorities across a diverse international coalition, ensuring work is well coordinated, delivered on schedule, and aligned with campaign objectives. The position exercises independent judgment in managing day-to-day operations and partner relationships while recognizing when strategic, financial, or organizational issues require leadership input.
The annual salary range for this full-time, remote position is. Starting salary is determined by qualifications, skills, and experience relevant to the role. This position is represented by the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU). The first three (3) months of employment constitute an introductory (probationary) period.
