Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to develop new business across Buckman’s portfolio, with a primary focus on Water Technologies, emerging markets, and the paper industry. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and converting new customers while supporting the overall objectives and business strategies of the division and company. This role is expected to build profitable new sales opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and position Buckman Laboratories as the customer’s preferred full-service supplier for chemical programs, application expertise, and value-added technical solutions. 

Education :

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / Biology or related Science/Engineering 

Mandate Experience :

  • More than 7 years related sales & services experience; has successful selling experience; proven track record in sales of Specialty chemicals and its filed application in the industries of Thailand. 
  • At least 3 years of management experience 
  • New Business Development skill 
  • Excellent communication in Thai/English (both written and verbal),  
  • Interpersonal, Presentation and Price negotiation skill 
  • Able to travel extensively. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory business development plan focused on acquiring new customers across Buckman’s portfolio, especially in Water Technologies, emerging markets, and the paper industry. 
  • Identify high-potential prospects, qualify opportunities, and build a strong sales pipeline with clear targets, timelines, decision makers, and expected revenue potential. 
  • Lead the full new-business sales cycle from prospecting, customer engagement, technical assessment, proposal development, negotiation, trial execution, and closing. 
  • Work closely with the Country Manager, technical team, regional business leaders, and distributor partners to prioritize target accounts and convert opportunities into profitable sales. 
  • Establish new customer accounts and develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including plant management, procurement, production, quality, and technical teams. 
  • Prepare sales forecasts, opportunity updates, market intelligence, competitor analysis, and business reports to support management decision-making and marketing planning. 
  • Develop value propositions and commercial proposals that demonstrate Buckman’s technical differentiation, measurable customer value, and return on investment. 
  • Coordinate product trials, service plans, transition plans, customer evaluations, and documentation required to support new business implementation. 
  • Ensure all customer-facing activities comply with Buckman’s internal processes, safety requirements, documentation standards, asset management policies, and reporting procedures. 
  • Support annual business reviews, customer satisfaction surveys, and account transition activities for newly acquired customers where required. 

Required skills

  • Strong new business development skills, including prospecting, lead generation, opportunity qualification, sales pipeline management, proposal development, negotiation, and closing. 
  • Proven ability to identify new customers, understand technical and commercial needs, and convert opportunities into profitable sales. 
  • Ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles involving technical trials, multiple decision makers, and procurement processes. 
  • Strong market intelligence, competitor analysis, and customer mapping skills to identify growth opportunities. 
  • Self-driven, persistent, and able to work independently to deliver new sales growth. Good understanding of and familiarity of our business and organization 
  • Good understanding of business / financial concepts and terminologies. 
  • A team player; Excellent leadership
