As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the strategic design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge software systems for our healthcare SaaS platform. This role serves as a hands-on technical authority designing, coding, and scaling resilient AWS infrastructure and modern Agentic AI systems.

You will oversee large-scale projects, drive innovation, and collaborate with executive leadership to align technical solutions with business goals. You will lead the work of teams of Engineers working across departments within the organization.

Your work in guiding projects and teams helps assure that our solutions offer a high level of technical excellence with integrated, scalable, secure, well designed and automated modern engineering practices.

We create modern, efficient solutions for our customers using appropriate platforms. We do have some infrastructure in mainframe and mid-tier applications. You may be working in any of these areas, and we offer training to help hone your skills where needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the design and development of software applications and systems, ensuring architecture and product approvals are obtained and functional and non-functional requirements are addressed
  • Leads technical execution for autonomous AI agent integrations, LLM workflows, and multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI
  • Builds and champions production-grade CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation on AWS
  • Mentors senior engineers, conducts comprehensive code reviews, upholds code quality standards, guides technical team execution, and resolves complex architectural bottlenecks
  • Develops and implements high-quality, scalable, secure, and performant code using approved architectural patterns, coding standards, and enterprise engineering practices
  • Resolves complex technical issues through advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, debugging, dependency analysis, and cross-team collaboration
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, priorities, and timelines
  • Ensures software solutions comply with applicable healthcare industry standards, security expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal governance practices
  • Works as part of an Agile team, participates in Agile ceremonies, remains accountable for sprint deliverables, and supports disciplined SDLC execution
  • Drives continuous improvement, innovation, emerging technology adoption, regular upskilling, and knowledge sharing across the engineering organization
  • Participates in talent acquisition and performance management activities, including interviewing, candidate evaluation, goal setting, associate development, performance feedback, and review input
  • Provides technical direction across teams, influencing engineering standards, platform strategy, and architectural decisions without direct people-management authority
Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of cloud and DevOps engineering, including deep AWS expertise, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Proven ability to deploy Agentic AI models, autonomous AI agent integrations, LLM workflows, or multi-agent systems into production environments
  • Extensive experience with software engineering methodologies, Agile delivery practices, SDLC governance, and modern engineering best practices
  • Advanced full-stack development proficiency across user interface, middle tier, backend, APIs, integrations, and related technologies
  • Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, design patterns, scalability, resiliency, security, performance optimization, and non-functional requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including networking, compute platforms, storage, databases, middleware, systems management, and security practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives, estimate complex work, manage milestones, and guide technical teams through successful delivery
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching, communication, and strategic planning skills, including the ability to influence senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, debugging, and attention to detail in complex distributed systems environments
  • Ability to embrace emergent solutioning, iterative delivery, innovation, continuous improvement, and evolving technology trends, including AI-enabled engineering practices
  • Demonstrated responsiveness to internal and external customers, with the ability to balance technical excellence, business priorities, and stakeholder needs
