The Commercial Training & Competency Program Manager is responsible for designing, deploying, and governing a global and consistent commercial capability development framework across all Regions. This role partners closely with Regional Commercial Leaders, Business Units (BUs), and DBS leaders to build a robust and scalable learning ecosystem, strengthen sales competencies, and ensure commercial teams perform at their highest potential.

This role requires an experienced commercial leader with strong understanding of sales cycles and process in a B2B environment, customer engagement, and commercial excellence practices. The role is both strategic and hands-on, driving global alignment while enabling local execution.

This position reports to the Director Global Commercial Operations and will be part of the Global Commercial Operations team.

The position will be fully remote in Italy.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and lead the global commercial training strategy by establishing a consistent, scalable learning framework, onboarding programs, and blended learning solutions across all regions.

  • Build and govern a global sales competency framework that defines required capabilities, assesses proficiency, identifies gaps, and drives development plans for all commercial roles.

  • Partner with Regional Commercial Leaders, Business Units, and DBS teams to align training priorities, ensure content relevance, and drive accountability for capability development.

  • Establish robust training governance and operational excellence through standardized processes, content management, reporting, compliance oversight, learning platforms, and Train-the-Trainer networks.

  • Measure impact and continuously improve commercial capabilities by tracking training effectiveness, monitoring competency progress, analyzing performance gaps, and providing actionable insights to leadership.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Training & Development, Commercial Management, or comparable experience

  • 7+ years in Sales, Commercial Excellence, Sales Enablement, or Training roles

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage global programs and projects

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and influencing skills

  • Strong command of MS Office, and in particular MS Excel and large language model (LLM) based answer engines such as M365 Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel 20% of time

It would be a plus if you also possess experience in:

  • Working knowledge with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone, Workday Learning)

Base salary and level of employment

This role is classified under the applicable CCNL Commercio as Quadro, which defines minimum terms, job classification, and baseline progression frameworks. The expected gross annual salary range for this role is €85000 - 131000, determined based on objective criteria such as experience, skills, and role-related competencies.

Bonus / Incentive Pay

This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.  This is the target earnings as 20% of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
