About the role

We are now creating a new role that will help shape the future of environmental compliance and energy performance across our UK & Ireland business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental professional to develop and drive a strategic environmental agenda across multiple manufacturing and service locations, ensuring compliance excellence while supporting Sulzer's sustainability ambitions.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and continuously improve Sulzer's ISO 14001 Environmental Management System across UK & Ireland sites.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and regulatory requirements.

  • Help shape and deliver environmental and energy initiatives that support Sulzer's sustainability ambitions.

  • Conduct audits, assessments and compliance reviews across multiple locations.

  • Monitor environmental and energy performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Support carbon reduction, waste minimisation and resource-efficiency projects.

  • Investigate environmental incidents and drive corrective actions.

  • Partner with site teams, operational leaders and external bodies to embed best practice.

  • Keep the business informed of emerging environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in environmental compliance within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.

  • Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and management systems.

  • Proven experience managing or supporting ISO 14001.

  • ISEP membership (or working towards it).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • The confidence to challenge, influence and drive improvements across multiple sites.

  • A proactive mindset and passion for sustainability.

Working Pattern

Based primarily at our Leeds facility, you'll also travel across Sulzer's UK & Ireland sites to support environmental and energy initiatives where they matter most. This is not a fully remote role, but we offer a flexible approach to working, including home working where appropriate. Alongside a 37-hour week, our flexi-time scheme allows you to bank hours and take them back as service leave, giving you greater control over how you manage your time.
