Non-Instructional Student Support focuses on fostering a high touch approach to educational support and a commitment and desire to provide the best experience possible for students and families including: empowering families to increase their involvement and assist in their student’s education, facilitating engagement in school activities and providing clear and consistent communication regarding school expectations and activities. Required Certificates and Licenses: Valid Arizona Teaching Certification Required

  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Residency Requirements: Must reside in Arizona

  • This position is remote and strongly prefer candidates that reside in Arizona.

The Child Find Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Child Find Process, including referrals for Special Education initial evaluations. This position reports to the Academic Administrator of Special Programs, and interacts on a daily basis with families, school administrators, teachers, related services providers, and on a less frequent basis with compliance monitors in order to successfully perform the work.

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

  • Coordinate Child Find referral, screening, and evaluation processes for students suspected of having disabilities.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and required evaluation timelines.
  • Review referrals and supporting documentation to determine appropriate next steps.
  • Schedule and coordinate Child Find, evaluation planning, eligibility, and related special education meetings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families, school staff, and stakeholders regarding Child Find procedures.
  • Ensure procedural safeguards and required notices are provided to parents/guardians.
  • Track referrals, evaluations, and compliance timelines using district data systems.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant student records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, school psychologists, related service providers, and administrators throughout the evaluation process.
  • Generate reports and maintain data related to Child Find activities and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to referral and evaluation processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding Child Find procedures and requirements.
  • Assist with state monitoring activities, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Participate in department, district, and professional development meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Special Programs or designee.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALFICIATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree(s) AND
  • Three (3) years of related professional experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Thorough knowledge about and ability to apply understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Three (3) or more years of special education teaching or case management experience
  • Three (3) or more years of directly related experience in an online school setting
  • Minimum of three years of experience in special education preferred.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Child Find requirements, evaluation procedures, and special education compliance timelines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with virtual education and special education data systems preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
