Job description

Big Cases. Small-Team Feel. The Resources to Do Your Best Work.

You’ve spent years developing your judgment as a litigator. At this stage of your career, you shouldn’t have to choose between autonomy and mentorship, flexibility and connection, or sophisticated work and the resources to do it well.

At Tyson & Mendes, our Scottsdale team offers the best of both worlds: the close-knit, collaborative feel of a boutique practice backed by the technology, infrastructure, training, and national reach of a leading insurance defense firm.

We’re looking for an experienced Arizona insurance defense attorney with 8+ years of litigation experience who is ready to take ownership of meaningful, complex work while continuing to grow alongside skilled and supportive leadership.

Remote work opportunities are available.

An active Arizona Bar license is required.

Work That Challenges You

This isn't a high-volume practice built around simply moving files.

Our Scottsdale attorneys have the opportunity to work on high-value, sophisticated matters involving catastrophic and complex liability, wrongful death, and other significant litigation where strategy, judgment, and experience truly matter.

These are cases that give experienced litigators room to think, lead, advise, and make an impact.

Serious cases deserve serious attorneys.

Autonomy Without Going It Alone

At the Senior Counsel level, you've earned the ability to run your cases and make decisions.

We believe in giving experienced attorneys that trust.

You'll have meaningful autonomy and ownership of your matters, while working with accomplished leaders who are available to strategize, mentor, collaborate, and help you continue sharpening your practice.

Our smaller Scottsdale team also means relationships matter. You can know the people you work with, have access to leadership, mentor others, and play a visible role in the success and growth of the office.

Boutique Feel. National Foundation.

You get the intimacy of a smaller team without having to operate like a small firm.

Behind our Scottsdale office is the infrastructure of a national litigation firm; resources, operational support, professional development, sophisticated clients, training, and colleagues across the country who can be tapped for experience and expertise.

You don't get lost in the organization. You get the organization behind you.

Technology That Works for the Lawyer

The practice of law is changing quickly. We believe your firm should be moving forward with it.

Tyson & Mendes continues to invest in AI-enabled legal tools, advanced case-management technology, modern research resources, and technology designed to help attorneys capture billable time more effectively and reduce unnecessary administrative friction.

We want our attorneys spending more of their time doing what experienced attorneys do best: thinking, strategizing, advocating, advising clients, and winning cases.

A Different Approach to Litigation

Our attorneys don't simply inherit a way of practicing because "that's how it's always been done."

Through our APEX methodology, nationally recognized Trial Academy, and our approach to Stopping Nuclear Verdicts®, we give attorneys proven strategies and frameworks they can put to work on significant cases.

You'll have the freedom to bring your own experience and judgment to the table—and additional tools to make you even better.

Maybe You're Not Looking. Maybe You're Ready for Something Better.

You may already be successful where you are.

But if you're an experienced Arizona litigator wondering whether there's a firm where you could have greater autonomy, sophisticated work, strong mentorship, modern technology, remote flexibility, and the resources of a national platform without sacrificing the connection of a smaller team, we'd like to talk.

Bring us the experience you've built. We'll give you the runway to see where you can take it next.

Tyson & Mendes is hiring in Scottsdale. Apply today and start the conversation.
