About the Role & Team
Talent Acquisition is a key area of research at a time when the need for finding top talent is at a premium with the global transition to AI-enabled business models. The HR profession itself is also transforming rapidly with the addition of AI capabilities which facilitate candidate recruitment, management, and onboarding. The research manager position will focus on working with both vendor and buyer clients to assess the changing requirements for finding and effectively onboarding exceptional candidates. The position will focus on building relationships with key vendors in this space, conducting surveys and market research to forecast market growth and market trends. IT Leadership client conversations will round out the work with vendors enabling conversations on key priorities across different industry use cases. Investor conversations will focus on market growth, competitive analysis and technology trends around Talent Acquisition. This role falls within the Workplace Solutions organization complementing work with analysts focused on core AI-enabled Human Capital Management and Employee Experience.
What You’ll Do

Conduct survey and market research on the area of Talent Acquisition

Write a broad variety of research reports based on survey and market data (min. 30/year)
Engage vendor subscribers in regular inquiry and briefing meetings (including events)
Engage IT Leader subscribers in regular inquiry meetings
Conduct custom research delivered promptly to vendor clients
Collaborate closely with immediate and globally extended team members

Continuously expand knowledge of tools and emerging technologies to conduct research

What You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
Minimum 10 years experience working in technology field in research, consulting or similar capacity.
Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative methods of social science research and tools needed to support them - e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams)

Proficiency using AI LLM models for data queries and analysis

Strong track record of written research and ability to present to senior level audience

Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographic regions
Project leadership and time management skills to load balance work/travel requirements
Ability to problem solve independently and collaboratively
25% travel with 100% remote work model

Compensation Transparency

At IDC, we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Employees are compensated equitably for their work, aligned with their skills and experience. Salary and incentive structures are determined through a rigorous process that considers experience, education, certifications, role-specific requirements, internal equity, and verified U.S. market data from an independent third-party partner.

The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $91,000 – $150,000, inclusive of base salary and variable compensation.

If this role relocates to a different country, the salary range will be updated to reflect that country's range, rather than a currency conversion of the original range.
