WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Transportation Pricing Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing the organization's transportation pricing strategy to drive cost recovery, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability. This position partners closely with Sales, Service Delivery, and Contract Managers to provide pricing guidance, approvals, and analytical support.

The role is responsible for developing and maintaining transportation pricing tools, analyzing transportation costs, reviewing product movement trends, and identifying opportunities to improve pricing consistency and reduce costs. Through data-driven decision making, the Transportation Pricing Specialist helps ensure transportation pricing aligns with business objectives while supporting customer needs.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): 

  • Implement and maintain transportation pricing strategies across customer base.
  • Develop and enhance pricing models and Excel-based decision-support tools.
  • Provide pricing guidance and approval support to Sales and Account Management teams.
  • Analyze transportation costs, product movement, returns, transfers, discards, and pick-up activity to identify cost recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor pricing performance and recommend adjustments based on business trends and operational data.
  • Collaborate with Sales Virtual Senior Account Managers to support pricing consistency and customer profitability.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and business partners.
  • Support pricing policy development and implementation.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that create efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
  • Train stakeholders on pricing tools, processes, and best practices.

Pay Information:

The salary range for this position is $75,000-85,000/year

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. 

The role is remote/work‑from‑home, with the requirement that the selected candidate reside anywhere within the United States.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in transportation, logistics, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for diverse stakeholders.

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query and Power Pivot.
  • Strong experience with Power BI, Salesforce reporting, data analysis, and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong public speaking, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
