Job description

The North American Benefit Plan Analyst provides analytical and operational support for the organization's benefit and wellness programs, with a focus on vendor support, plan administration, financial analysis, compliance, and program effectiveness. Partners with the Benefits team, third-party advisors, vendors and internal stakeholders to support the effective administration and ongoing evaluation of benefit programs.

This role applies working knowledge of benefit programs and established processes to complete assigned analyses, audits, reporting and program activities. The role supports more complex initiatives and escalates issues requiring advanced expertise, interpretation or decision-making to more senior Benefits team members.

This is a REMOTE opportunity, but candidates must be located in Eastern Time Zone.

Core Responsibilities 

Vendor & Partner Support 

  • Supports benefit vendor and partner Request for Proposal (RFP) activities by gathering data, preparing materials and coordinating assigned tasks. 

  • Reviews vendor and partner performance against established service level agreements (SLAs) and escalates issues or trends requiring follow-up. 

  • Coordinates with vendors and third-party advisors to resolve routine program and service issues. 

  • Maintains documentation and reporting related to vendor performance and program activities. 

Financial & Plan Analysis 

  • Conducts benefit billing audits and reviews invoices and payments to identify discrepancies and support accurate and timely processing. 

  • Provides analytical support for quarterly and annual benefit planning, budgeting and forecasting activities. 

  • Compiles and analyzes benefit plan data to identify trends and support program decision-making. 

  • Works with third-party advisors to gather information and support the assessment of plan performance and potential optimization opportunities. 

  • Prepares routine reports, analyses and presentations for the Benefits team and business stakeholders. 

Compliance & Reporting 

  • Supports required regulatory reporting and compliance activities for assigned benefit programs. 

  • Gathers and validates data needed for regulatory reporting, audits and other compliance requirements. 

  • Maintains accurate records and documentation to support compliance and program administration. 

  • Escalates potential compliance issues or exceptions to appropriate Benefits team members. 

Program & Case Support 

  • Supports case management activities for high-cost claimants in partnership with the Benefits team, vendors and other appropriate resources. 

  • Research benefit-related questions and issues and coordinates with vendors or advisors to support resolution. 

  • Identifies recurring questions or issues and brings trends to the attention of more senior Benefits team members. 

Business & Project Support 

  • Provides data, analysis and administrative support for labor negotiations and M&A activities as needed. 

  • Supports benefit-related projects, program enhancements and process improvements. 

  • Coordinates assigned activities and maintains project documentation to support timely completion of Benefits initiatives.
