Hyphen Solutions

Construction Technology (ConTech)

Hyphen Solutions has been providing industry-leading construction management software to Home Builders, Suppliers and Manufacturers since 1999. By utilizing technology, Builders and Suppliers can focus on what they do best: deliver quality, customer satisfaction, safety and continuous process improvements. For Home Builders of all sizes, including production, semi-custom and custom home builders, Hyphen created BuildPro, the most widely used software-as-a-service application among North American Home Builders to schedule their residential construction projects. To support the everchanging needs of builders in the industry, Hyphen has developed an array of products to support different business needs from ERP to payment processing and more. For suppliers, contractors, trades, distributors and manufacturers, Hyphen created SupplyPro. Its users benefit from having an online portal they can use to view each job by task and its status and schedules in real-time, aggregated in one application for all their builders. Hyphen has created the next generation of SupplyPro, SupplyPro GM, to support large volumes of construction jobs and to provide the flexibility needed to support this. By digitally joining the web-based portion of the home building industry, Hyphen’s applications reduce cycle time to complete builds and allows management real-time access to job status and the ability to manage resources accordingly. This improves business results, provides lenders perfect knowledge of underwriting construction status and provides home buyers real-time access to the delivery schedule.

Job description

Build Your Future with Hyphen While Our Clients Build Homes with Your Support.

We Build a Trusted Homebuilder Network, Unifying the Construction Supply Chain.

.NET / Blazor Developer

Company: Hyphen Solutions, LLC.

Team / Product: HomeFront — construction estimating, purchasing, sales & job-cost platform Location: Dallas, TX (preferred) · Remote (U.S.) considered for the right candidate

Employment type: Full-time · Individual contributor

Reports to: Product Owner

About the product

HomeFront, branded Precision Builder, is the line-of-business web application homebuilders rely on to run the full pre-construction and cost-control lifecycle: estimating and takeoff, pricing, purchasing, job and customer management, and reporting. We are in the middle of a modernization we are proud of, a faithful migration of a mature Visual Basic 6 desktop product to a modern ASP.NET Core / .NET 10 Blazor Server web application, running on SQL Server.

A third-party partner is executing the rewrite today. We are hiring the full-time engineer who will take the reins, own the platform going forward, and keep making it better.

The opportunity

This is a rare "own it" role. You will start with a built-in runway: the delivery partner is engaged through the end of the year, and the Senior Developer of the desktop product is on our team to help guide intended behavior and business logic. You will use that time to learn the system deeply, then become the in-house technical authority for the web application, supporting it, enhancing it, and shaping where it goes next.

If you like real ownership, a product with genuine depth, and the autonomy to do your best work, this is for you.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of the VB6-to-Blazor migration, first alongside the delivery partner, then as the primary in-house engineer
  • Support and stabilize the application: diagnose and fix production issues and keep the platform healthy
  • Work directly with the Senior Developer to build new features and enhancements across estimating, pricing, purchasing, jobs, sales, and reporting
  • Work directly in the C#/Blazor Server codebase and the hand-written ADO.NET data layer against an existing SQL Server schema
  • Write and tune SQL where behavior must match the legacy product exactly
  • Own build and release through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and deployments to IIS on Windows/EC2
  • Maintain and extend authentication via AWS Cognito
  • Partner with the Product Owner on priorities and with the Senior Developer on domain and legacy behavior

Your first year, roughly

  • Months 1–4: Ramp alongside the delivery partner and the Senior Developer; learn the codebase, the data model, and the domain; start closing bugs and small enhancements.
  • By end of year: Take over as the HomeFront web application developer as the partner engagement winds down.
  • Beyond: Own support and the enhancement roadmap; raise the bar on quality and delivery.

Must-have qualifications

  • 6–10 years of enterprise software development experience
  • Strong, current expertise in modern .NET and C#
  • Hands-on Blazor experience (Server model / stateful SignalR circuits)
  • Strong SQL Server skills, writing and tuning T-SQL directly, not solely through an ORM
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience implementing or integrating AWS Cognito (or closely comparable OIDC/identity platforms)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent professional experience will be strongly weighed)

Strongly preferred

  • AWS certification(s) — these carry real weight with us
  • Experience owning or absorbing a legacy modernization / rewrite effort
  • Comfort working in a hand-rolled data-access layer (no ORM)

Nice to have

  • Testing and code-quality discipline (unit/integration testing, code review rigor)
  • Exposure to construction, estimating, or other complex line-of-business domains

Who you are

  • Self-motivated and self-directed — you set your own pace and follow through
  • Curious — you dig in and enjoy learning unfamiliar systems
  • Gritty — you stay with a customer problem until it is genuinely solved
  • A strong written communicator — essential on our remote-majority team
  • Comfortable working independently as the sole web engineer, for now
  • The kind of person who quickly becomes a trusted, go-to member of the team

Why join us

  • Real ownership of a substantial product, with a direct line to the Product Owner
  • A supported ramp: learn from the delivery partner who built the rewrite and from the original product architect before you take the wheel
  • Room to grow: this seat is positioned to expand its influence as the team grows
  • Flexibility: Dallas-based preferred, with remote flexibility for the right person
