Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, AI Acceleration & Attorney Enablement based in London, the person in this role will be a senior leader within a newly formed, high-visibility department within the Legal Technology & Enablement team. This is a role for someone energized by legal innovation and passionate about transforming how attorneys work, not merely deploying tools, but driving genuine, lasting adoption across the firm's East Coast offices.

Based in New York and responsible for the firm's East Coast offices, you will act as the on-the-ground lead for AI enablement in the region. You will be working closely with the Senior Manager, AI Acceleration & Attorney Enablement and the Sr. Director, Technology Strategy & Enablement, while operating with a high degree of autonomy given the distributed nature of the team.

You will own key stakeholder relationships across your region, motivating and aligning counsel, associates and practice managers around the firm's technology strategy. Although this role allows for mostly remote working, you will be expected to attend the NY office and travel to the East Coast offices as required.

Primary Objectives:

In partnership with the Senior Manager and the broader AI Enablement team, you will advance the firm's core objectives across the East Coast:

  • Lead the delivery of a global, attorney-facing AI Enablement program across the firm's East Coast offices.
  • Provide lawyers in your region with the foundational skills needed to practice law responsibly with AI and other legal technology tools to complete day-to-day tasks more efficiently and to innovate new ways of working.
  • Drive measurable incorporation of AI and legal technology into the practice of law by leading change management programs that move attorneys from awareness to confident, habitual use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (LASER, Professional Development, Training) to align on and accelerate technology adoption objectives across your region.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for AI enablement matters across the East Coast, ensuring the region’s-based leadership has clear visibility of their office’s progress and risks.
  • Track and interpret adoption analytics across the attorney cohort to measure the effectiveness of enablement activity and direct effort where it is most needed.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:

AI Enablement & Literacy

  • Lead the enablement and change management strategy for attorney-facing AI and legal technology tools across the East Coast offices.
  • Design and execute AI and legal technology enablement programs that teach attorneys to leverage AI and legal technology in every layer of legal and client delivery, from document review, drafting and legal research to case management and due diligence.
  • Design and deliver training curricula, "AI academies" and adoption campaigns such as hackathons, workshops and vendor deep dives, tailored to the needs of East Coast practice groups.
  • Build and maintain a ready set of session outlines, curriculum and worked examples for each tool, contributing them to the team's central library so colleagues in other offices can adapt them.

Change Management

  • Own the attorney-facing change management discipline for AI and egal technology rollouts across the East Coast, anticipating resistance and proactively identifying and resolving difficult dynamics within implementation.
  • Develop change strategies, communications plans and reinforcement mechanisms that account for the distinct needs of attorneys.
  • Lead the development of change management communications and resources such as information portals, newsletters, user guides, FAQs and video guides.
  • Champion a culture of curiosity and continuous learning, ensuring enablement resources meet attorneys where they are and scale with the firm.
  • Contribute to AI partnering and experimentation with practice groups, helping position the firm as a forward-looking innovator.

Regional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Operate as a self-starter, exercising independent judgement in the day-to-day running of the East Coast AI enablement program given the Senior Manager's location in London.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture grounded in open communication and a growth mindset.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships and effective collaboration across the broader Legal Technology & Enablement group and with LASER, LSS, Professional Development, IS Training and practice group leadership to embed AI and legal technology across all East Coast practices.
  • Stay ahead of AI and legal technology trends, engaging in thoughtful industry listening to remain attuned to peer developments and market direction.
  • Use adoption analytics and usage data to understand and report on levels of AI and legal technology adoption across the attorney cohort, identifying trends, gaps and opportunities to target enablement effort.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the Senior Manager and the Senior Director, Technology Strategy & Enablement on your region’s adoption progress, risks and escalations.
  • Deliver training sessions in both one-to-one and group settings, adapting style and depth to the audience, from a single attorney to a full practice group.
  • Travel to other offices in your region along with international offices, if required.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

  • 7+ years of experience in legal technology, innovation, enablement or change management, ideally within a law firm, professional services, or comparable knowledge-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading technology adoption and change management initiatives at scale with measurable adoption outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of attorney workflows and the practice of law with familiarity in AI and legal technology platforms (e.g. generative AI tools, document review, drafting and knowledge management systems).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills with proven ability to build credibility and become a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team along with exercising sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and program management skills.
  • Comfortable working with adoption and usage analytics to measure and act on training and enablement outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering training and facilitation in both one-to-one and group settings, to audiences ranging from individual attorneys to full practice groups.
