About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Boilermaker / Welder to join our workshop team based at Perth Airport, WA.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity working on our transport fleet and workshop equipment. You’ll carry out welding, fabrication and repair work across a range of heavy vehicles and equipment, including rigid trucks, prime movers and trailers.

Working Hours

  • Full-time permanent position

  • 5 days per week

  • 12-hour shifts

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs on heavy vehicles, trailers and transport equipment.

  • Perform oxy, arc and MIG welding.

  • Complete mechanical and pneumatic repairs where required.

  • Inspect equipment, identify faults and complete repairs to a high standard.

  • Carry out fabrication and modification work in line with workshop requirements.

  • Complete job cards and accurately record work performed and parts used.

  • Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and wider maintenance team.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.

  • Follow all WHS procedures, including hot-work and risk-assessment requirements.

  • Support and mentor apprentices and Trades Assistants where required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Welding Trade or equivalent.

  • At least 2 years of relevant trade experience.

  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.

  • Experience working in a workshop environment.

  • Heavy vehicle, trailer or transport equipment experience highly regarded.

  • Good understanding of mechanical principles.

  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
