We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced designers and visual communication professionals with strong expertise in corporate presentations, business documents, layout, typography, and polished knowledge-work deliverables.
This role focuses on reviewing and improving professional decks, documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs for both content quality and visual execution. Selected professionals will compare alternative deliverables, identify the strongest version, and refine it to a polished, client-ready standard using practical corporate design judgement.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Presentation Design

Review and improve presentation decks for visual quality, clarity, and professional polish

Assess slide layouts, spacing, hierarchy, alignment, and information density

Refine existing materials to achieve a high-quality corporate presentation standard

Ensure complex business information is communicated clearly and efficiently

Apply design judgement appropriate for consulting, finance, corporate, and professional-services environments
Visual Layout & Composition

Evaluate layouts for balance, spacing, grouping, and visual hierarchy

Identify subtle inconsistencies such as alignment gaps, uneven elements, excessive whitespace, or poor margin discipline

Improve page and slide composition while preserving content integrity
-
Assess whether visual structure supports comprehension and usability
-
Maintain consistency across multi-page or multi-slide deliverables
Typography & Formatting

Review typography for readability, hierarchy, consistency, and professional appearance

Assess font sizing, weight, spacing, alignment, and text density
-
Refine formatting to create clear distinctions between headings, supporting information, and key messages

Identify inconsistencies that reduce visual polish
-
Apply disciplined formatting standards across complete deliverables
Business Document Design

Review professional documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs alongside presentation materials

Assess structure, visual organisation, and presentation of information

Improve tables, charts, text blocks, and other knowledge-work components

Ensure materials feel coherent and professionally produced across formats

Apply practical judgement to client-facing and internal corporate deliverables
Design Comparison & Evaluation

Compare multiple versions of the same deliverable

Assess alternatives across layout and spacing, typography, colour, domain realism, and overall polish

Identify the strongest starting point for further refinement

Explain evaluation decisions using specific visual evidence

Distinguish substantive design differences from minor stylistic preferences
Reference-Quality Refinement

Rework selected deliverables to a polished, publication-ready standard

Improve visual hierarchy, spacing, consistency, and overall presentation

Correct layout defects and inconsistencies throughout the deliverable

Preserve or improve content quality while enhancing design execution

Produce work appropriate for professional client-facing use
Written Design Feedback

Provide clear explanations for design and evaluation decisions

Reference specific issues involving alignment, spacing, balance, grouping, typography, and density

Articulate why particular visual approaches are stronger or weaker

Provide actionable and precise design feedback

Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments
Ideal Profile
-
Professional background in presentation design, visual design, graphic design, corporate design, marketing communications, or a related field
-
Experience creating or reviewing polished business and client-facing materials
-
Relevant backgrounds may include management consulting, investment banking, in-house corporate design, agency work, or marketing communications

Strong visual judgement across layout, spacing, typography, colour, hierarchy, and composition
-
Ability to identify subtle design inconsistencies that may be overlooked by non-designers
-
Strong understanding of what makes professional business deliverables visually effective

Able to articulate design decisions clearly in writing

Strong attention to detail

Genuine interest in both the content and presentation quality of professional work
Engagement Details

Part-time independent contractor engagement

Fully remote

Approximately 15 hours per week

Compensation: $55–$90/hour

Work includes evaluation and refinement of presentation decks, documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs
-
Screening includes a Corporate Design calibration assessment of approximately 45 minutes
-
The assessment focuses particularly on judgement of layout and spacing in professional deliverables

Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
-
Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
