ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to join our engineering organization and lead one of our product teams. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and solution architecture responsibilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and delivering scalable, secure, and user-centric cloud-native applications. You will work closely with engineers, product teams, and client stakeholders to drive technical excellence, establish engineering best practices, and ensure successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

This position requires strong expertise in AWS cloud services, modern web technologies, data engineering, and DevOps practices, alongside excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support a product team as a hands-on Tech Lead.

  • Split and structure project work, ensuring efficient delivery and clear ownership.

  • Review code, select appropriate design patterns, and mentor developers in delivering high-quality user stories.

  • Actively contribute to software development within a cloud-native AWS environment using TypeScript.

  • Design and develop modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, and Tailwind-based frameworks.

  • Implement backend services in Node.js and TypeScript to support ETL processes, machine learning workflows, and risk insight solutions.

  • Architect, develop, and maintain REST APIs with secure authentication mechanisms, including OAuth/OIDC and HMAC patterns.

  • Ensure security and compliance through implementation of IAM/CIAM policies, TLS/KMS encryption, and audit logging.

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab Flow.

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

  • Drive engineering best practices, technical standards, and architectural excellence across the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Senior Full Stack Developer in a hands-on engineering role.

  • Strong frontend development experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Flowbite CSS, and Tailwind-based frameworks.

  • Strong backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and REST API design and development.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, IAM, Secrets Manager, VPC Endpoints, PrivateLink, and Step Functions.

  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, gRPC services, OAuth/OIDC authentication, EventBridge, SQS, and webhook integrations.

  • Experience integrating solutions with OEM and insurer systems.

  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CDK for Terraform (CDKTF).

  • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, environment configuration management, and deployment automation.

  • Solid DevOps expertise, including Git workflows, branching strategies, Docker, Amazon ECR, automated testing, release gates, and CI/CD best practices.

  • Strong understanding of application and cloud security principles, including IAM/CIAM (Entra), TLS/KMS encryption, WAF, and multi-tenant architectures.

  • Proven ability to review code, establish engineering standards, and drive software quality across a development team.

  • Strong software architecture and solution design skills for cloud-native applications.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working in Agile product teams and mentoring developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
