Job description

We are seeking a Commercial Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates and tender submissions for new contracts, renewals, and variations. The role will assess labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and operating costs while working closely with Sales and Operations to develop commercially sound pricing and protect project margins.

  • Review tender documents, specifications, scopes, and client requirements to develop accurate pricing.
  • Prepare estimates covering labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, consumables, and operating costs.
  • Develop pricing models for new contracts, renewals, variations, and additional services while protecting margins.
  • Conduct site inspections and assess service requirements, staffing, productivity, equipment, and mobilisation costs.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders to gather pricing inputs.
  • Prepare professional tender submissions, pricing schedules, assumptions, and supporting documentation within deadlines.
  • Support tender negotiations, clarifications, handovers, reporting, and continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in estimating, pricing, tendering, bid support, or commercial analysis.
  • Proven experience preparing detailed estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Ability to interpret scopes of work, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation and calculate labour, materials, equipment, and operating costs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in facility services, commercial cleaning, maintenance, security, or other labour-intensive service environments is highly desirable.
