Description:

Works primarily on the Finance Team in the School of Medicine (SOM) Office of Fiscal Affairs to provide financial support for the SOM's 28 academic departments, 20 support units, and 2,600 faculty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains a financial analytics workbook in Excel to be updated daily during budget season and throughout the year.
  • In addition, analyzes changes in the departmental and school budgets.
  • Prepares complex financial reports and analytics to support SOM leadership to include the Dean, Executive Associate Deans, and CBOs in making sound financial decisions.
  • Analyzes data, determines trends and makes projections.
  • Gathers data and provides input in the annual budgeting process; advises Department Administrators on the detailed budgeting that Financial Strategic Alignment (FSA) requires.
  • Reconciles complex accounts.
  • Prepares complex financial data for submission to the Provost's Office.
  • May prepare and present budget training materials.
  • May participate in or lead finance related projects.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Math or other discipline in a Business School degree program or with a data analytics related focus OR a master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or other master's program with a data analytics focus.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Data analytics, PowerBI, SQL, modeling skills.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
