About the Role
As a Staff Accountant, your main responsibilities are to lead and support the finance team through training and coaching, manage daily accounting operations, ensure accurate reconciliation of financial records, and prepare key financial reports. You will also assist with budgeting and forecasting, support month- and year-end closings, ensure regulatory compliance—including tax filings across multiple jurisdictions—and collaborate with external auditors during audits.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the finance team, providing training and coaching as needed to support professional development and performance.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements and ensure accuracy in all financial records.
Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
Collaborate with external auditors and provide required documentation for audits.
Competencies and Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel is required.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in billing and account receivable records
Familiarity with corporate accounting practices
Nice-to-Have
Having familiarity with corporate accounting practices
Experience working with US Clients and Retail companies
Experience in multi-jurisdictional tax compliance (U.S. sales tax, GST, VAT).
Ability to use Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting
Financial Reporting: Preparation and management of financial reports.
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
