We're searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca's rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.

Your Role:

As a Brokerage Operations Associate I on Alpaca’s New Accounts team, you will work as an individual contributor supporting accounts-related work across the account lifecycle — onboarding, maintenance, updates, compliance-related cleanup, recurring operational projects, and initiative-based work across the function. You will partner with the New Accounts Principal Manager, owning recurring tasks and project work that strengthens the team and extends Alpaca’s account operations coverage.

In practice, your week is shaped by the work in front of you — queue-driven tasks and recurring assignments at one moment, deep work in spreadsheets, exports, and data analysis the next — as team priorities evolve. You interpret what needs attention, drive items to resolution, and partner on focused cleanup projects alongside the New Accounts Principal Manager. The New Accounts team is 100% distributed and remote. This role reports to the Director of Operations.

Things You Get To Do:

  • Process and support day-to-day accounts workflow throughout the account lifecycle;  onboarding, maintenance, updates, or closures
  • Fully own escheatment and abandoned property operations
  • Fully own monthly statement and trade confirmation review
  • Execute legacy cleanup and data hygiene projects to meet compliance with CIP requirements, including partner and user communications
  • Work through spreadsheets, exports, and operational lists to identify issues, find patterns, and drive items to resolution
  • Query databases at an operations level to identify and scope cleanup work, batch remediation, and measure progress
  • Work alongside a team of New Accounts analysts on day-to-day processing, and support the New Accounts Principal Manager on larger cleanup initiatives (processing, data pulls, follow-through)
  • Identify repeatable processes from one-off and legacy cleanup project work, then drive those into ongoing workflows — making them more efficient or automated over time
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Compliance, and partner-facing teams to translate operational problems into actionable next steps

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

  • Active FINRA Series 7 registration
  • 3+ years of brokerage or financial services operations experience in one or more of: new accounts, account maintenance, CIP/AML, escheatment, statement review, or related account operations
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and comfort working from large lists, exports, and reconciliation-style work
  • Understanding of databases, tables, fields, and how data connects for direct operational data investigation for cleanup and solutions
  • Comfortable working independently and able to take clear direction when available or interpret priorities and determine direction when it is not
  • Strong follow-through and ownership of assigned queues and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for partner, user, and internal stakeholders communications
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Exposure to AML frameworks, sanctions screening, or identity verification workflows
  • Technical fluency for a fintech environment (APIs, data terminology, basic system architecture) and comfort working with Product and Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excited about Alpaca’s mission and comfortable supporting a global partner and customer base

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):

  • FINRA Series 24 registration, or willingness to pursue over time
  • Experience with EDD, KYB, or business entity account support
  • Deeper experience with escheatment or abandoned property programs
  • Deeper experience with statement review, trade confirmation review, or similar control workflows
  • Interest in using AI tools to work smarter on drafting, summarization, and repetitive analysis
  • Prior experience in a B2B, API-driven, or correspondent brokerage model

How We Take Care of You:

  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card

Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.
