Job Summary
Toptal’s Marketing Agency Organization spans eight practices, from brand and advertising to martech and content marketing. We need a hybrid operator across solution architecture, sales enablement, partnerships, and client-facing business development — judged on outcomes: deals won, partner revenue generated, offerings shipped.
You will be part of a distributed team and will be reporting directly to our Practice Director of our Marketing Agency.
This is a remote position. We do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities:
The following information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or required skills.
Solution Architecture & Enterprise Deal Support
- Lead proposals and RFP responses for large, complex Enterprise engagements, and partner directly with SMB and Enterprise sales teams earlier in the deal cycle as a solutions counterpart and marketing subject matter expert.
Partnerships & Go-to-Market
- Own go-to-market execution of strategic partnerships with organizations like Hawke Media and Writer — offer structure, pricing, and co-sell motions — and be accountable for converting them into real, measurable revenue.
Core Offering Development
- Help evolve the core service catalog across project-based professional services and fully managed / retainer models, packaged so they’re easy for Sales to sell and clients to buy.
Client-Facing Business Development
- Represent the organization directly with prospective and existing Enterprise clients, owning outcomes and generating new business rather than only supporting from behind the scenes.
AI Enablement
- Design AI-enabled offerings for clients, and champion practical AI adoption inside the team.
In the first week, expect to:
- Meet the team.
- Familiarize yourself with Toptal’s operations, including OKRs, RACIs, and other operational frameworks.
- Undergo role-specific training to understand the procedures and tools currently utilized within our Marketing Agency Organization.
In the first month, expect to:
- Get to know your set of key stakeholders, both internally among the sales and operational teams at Toptal, as well as within our talent network, partners, and clients.
- Support the development of sales support material for our core marketing services offerings, assist sales counterparts on client calls, and help build RFPs and proposals that drive revenue for the business.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Evolve and formalize our go-to-market motion through a blend of direct sales activities, RFP and proposal responses, marketing campaigns, partnership co-sell and referral programs, and other techniques we haven’t thought of yet.
- Use your agency and client experience to build strong, trusted relationships across our internal sales and marketing teams as well as our key clients and talent network.
In the first six months, expect to:
- Build a whole new set of offerings for Toptal’s Marketing Agency, helping evolve the organization to a full-fledged professional and managed services organization.
- Bring new AI tools, processes, and approaches to the table that improve upon our existing approach, but most importantly drive pipeline and revenue.
In the first year, expect to:
- Become an integral part of the Toptal Marketing Agency team.
- Contribute to substantial year-over-year growth for Toptal, supporting new client acquisition activities across SMB, mid-market, and Enterprise clients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 8+ years of agency and/or consulting background with a track record of owning outcomes and working directly with clients.
- Experience writing and leading proposals or RFP responses for deals of varying size and complexity.
- Partnerships experience — building GTM motions and joint offerings that generated real, measurable revenue.
- Comfort working across both B2B and B2C, and across verticals such as consumer goods, technology, insurance, and financial services.
- Genuine interest in AI: designing AI-enabled client solutions and upskilling an internal team on AI tools.
- Experience working across various parts of the modern GTM motion: marketing, sales, customer success, revops.
- Strong client-facing presence, energized by business development, with excellent communication skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as perfect grammar and command of the English language.
- Ability to communicate clearly and consistently with teams through collaboration tools such as Slack.
- Demonstrated ability to excel as an individual contributor and deliver exceptional results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
- You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at Toptal. You will not be here just to tell other people what to do.
Essential Job Functions
- Regularly and reliably attend scheduled virtual team meetings on camera.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Use all required digital collaboration tools.
- Prioritize and self-manage workflows and deadlines
