Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer RTR (SAP ABAP) will provide state-of-the-art technical support for SAP Financial, Procurement, and Subledger systems maintenance and enhancements, including integrations with other systems. In this role, you will participate in implementation design and development activities that support successful business adoption of new solutions, as well as ongoing production support and enhancements after go-live. You will deliver high-quality, Clean Core technical solutions that meet business requirements and support key Finance transformation priorities across Project Keystone. 

Project Keystone is a multi-year transformation focused on building a globally standardized, flexible, and data-driven business platform that enables NBCU to make better and faster decisions based on real-time insights. Product and engineering teams support Finance process transformation across BRIM, Record-to-Report (RTR), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Treasury, Tax, and FP&A, while partnering across transformation management, master data governance, reporting, security, risk and controls, and change management. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform SAP development activities in response to business requests to improve or add functionality to the SAP landscape, specifically HANA/ABAP with an emphasis on financial modules. 
  • Participate in implementation design and development activities that support business adoption of new SAP solutions. 
  • Deliver high-quality, Clean Core technical solutions that align with business requirements and NBCU development standards. 
  • Develop SAP HANA CDS views, OData services, SQL objects, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDPs) to support business capabilities. 
  • Apply Clean Core development principles, classifications, and ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) checks to support compliance. 
  • Use the RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and key-user extensibility frameworks to develop Clean Core-compliant customizations. 
  • Support integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancement work across SAP Financial, Procurement, Subledger, and related systems. 
  • Adhere to IT and SAP project methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, and change-control processes. 
  • Collaborate with onsite and offshore resources, product teams, business stakeholders, and engineering partners. 
  • Provide production support, including working outside standard business hours and on weekends when issues arise. 
  • Complete assigned tasks across multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on quality and problem-solving. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline with an information technology focus, or an equivalent combination of education and training. 
  • 3+ years of hands-on SAP experience, including strong SAP Suite on HANA and S/4HANA skills. 
  • Experience as a Developer or Senior Developer on more than three projects. 
  • Experience with SAP HANA CDS view and OData service development, including SQL and AMDPs. 
  • Knowledge of SAP Clean Core principles, including released APIs, in-app extensibility options, key-user extensibility, Clean Core classifications, and ATC checks. 
  • Experience with the RAP programming model and Clean Core-compliant extensibility models. 
  • ECC development experience using BAdIs, BAPIs, LSMW, ALE, RFC calls, IDocs, BDC, business objects, classes and methods, Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, SAPscript, Data Dictionary, and ALV. 
  • ABAP debugging skills and workflow experience. 
  • SAP BRIM experience, including an understanding of the subscription lifecycle through SAP S/4HANA BRIM, such as SOM, CM, CC, CI/FICA, and FICO. 
  • Experience participating in a complete BRIM deployment lifecycle, including design, build, test, and support. 
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA BRIM integration across SAP modules and integration with ECC systems for business partner master data. 
  • S/4HANA development experience, including OData using CDS and AMDP, workflow support and debugging, SAP RAP and CAP programming models, Native SQL, ADBC, External Views, ABAP Core Data Services, AMDP procedures, Text Search, and ALV on HANA. 
  • Experience migrating custom code from ECC or Suite on HANA systems to an S/4HANA platform using technical remediation and Clean Core frameworks. 
  • Practical experience creating custom CDS views and enhancing standard CDS views and AMDP classes based on business requirements. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify flexible, forward-thinking IT solutions. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and IT stakeholders at all levels. 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Knowledge of SAP Build and SAP Build Work Zone. 
  • Awareness of embedded AI capabilities in SAP Build, including SAP Joule for developers and Joule AI Agents. 
  • Knowledge of newer SAP technologies, including SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, and SAP Build. 
  • Experience supporting order and contract management processes, products, business partners, and related master and transaction data. 
  • Experience using integration tools such as Convergent Mediation, SAP BTP, and SAP API Gateway. 
  • Relevant SAP technical certification. 
  • Practical knowledge of code performance rules and guidelines for SAP HANA. 
  • Ability to work flexibly and effectively, both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a self-starter mindset, with a desire to learn and deepen technical knowledge.

  • This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
