AVIXA is looking for a Director, Training- Business and Product Portfolio to lead and grow one of the association’s most important business lines: training. This is not a traditional curriculum-leadership role. We are looking for a commercial education/product leader who can understand what learners and customers value, what they need and will spend money and/or time for, what they will complete, and what will help AVIXA grow the reach and impact of its training for the AV industry.
In this role, you will own the day-to-day strategy, roadmap, performance, and operating priorities for AVIXA’s training business. You will work with a talented internal team and cross-functional partners to make practical, data-informed decisions about what to build, improve, package, price, scale, localize, or sunset. AVIXA is a not-for-profit association for the AV industry; this position will help utilize resources efficiently to provide what the industry wants and needs in training through this period of fast change.
We are open to several possible backgrounds. You may come from certification, association education, B2B training, professional education, edtech, customer education, media/content products, events/content, SaaS/product, or another environment where education or content is treated as a product or business line.
The strongest candidates will bring commercial judgment, P&L or revenue accountability, portfolio discipline, executive communication, and the ability to lead multiple teams and stakeholders toward practical business outcomes. Deep instructional design expertise is not required; we have curriculum and technical experts for that. You do need enough learning and content-development awareness to evaluate quality, challenge assumptions, manage scope, and keep effort aligned to business and learner impact.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional training leadership role. You will have meaningful ownership, senior visibility, a global industry platform, a talented team, and the chance to grow a business line that is central to AVIXA’s value proposition.
For the right person, this role is a chance to run the training business like an operator: listen to the market, use the data, make the tradeoffs, focus the team, and help AVIXA deliver education products that learners value and customers choose to buy.
AVIXA is the global trade association and professional society for the audiovisual industry. Our members create the experiences that help people connect, communicate, learn, work, and gather around the world. This role offers the chance to influence a core part of AVIXA’s member value, certification ecosystem, global education strategy, and industry impact.
