Position Overview

Future Group is building an AI-powered platform designed to provide users with accessible, trustworthy, and responsibly sourced Islamic knowledge.

We are looking for an Islamic Research & AI Content Specialist to work closely with the Head of Islamic Intelligence & Trust in developing, reviewing, and maintaining the organization's Islamic knowledge and trust framework.

The role combines Islamic scholarship, research, content verification, structured knowledge development, and AI quality assurance. The successful candidate will help ensure that Islamic information is accurate, properly sourced, consistent, responsible, and aligned with Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah.

This is an opportunity to help build Future Group's Islamic knowledge and trust framework from the ground up and contribute to the responsible application of Islamic scholarship within AI technology.

Key Responsibilities

Islamic Research & Source Verification

Research and verify Islamic information using trusted and recognized sources.

Review Islamic claims, rulings, references, quotations, and supporting evidence.

Research and review content relating to Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah, and other Islamic disciplines.

Document the methodology and trusted sources used for each topic.

Help establish clear standards for source selection and content inclusion.

Identify content that requires further scholarly review.

Islamic Knowledge Structuring

Organize Islamic knowledge into clear domains, subdomains, topics, and user questions.

Build and maintain structured Islamic content and question datasets.

Develop and refine topic taxonomies, use cases, and knowledge structures.

Ensure Islamic content is organized in a way that supports both scholarly accuracy and practical user needs.

AI Content Review & Quality Assurance

Review and improve questions, use cases, prompts, and sample answers.

Evaluate AI-generated answers for:

Islamic accuracy

Source quality

Citations and attribution

Consistency

Appropriate handling of scholarly differences

Clarity and suitability for users

Compare AI-generated answers with other AI tools to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Identify unsupported claims, hallucinations, weak sourcing, and potentially misleading content.

Help develop processes for ongoing Islamic content quality assurance.

Scholarly Review & Risk Identification

Review Hadith, Fiqh, and other Islamic content for accuracy and appropriate context.

Identify areas of recognized scholarly disagreement.

Flag questions and topics that require review by qualified scholars.

Distinguish between matters of broad scholarly agreement and legitimate differences of opinion.

Help ensure disputed matters are not presented as universally agreed upon.

Escalate sensitive, complex, or insufficiently supported content appropriately.

Product & Engineering Collaboration

Work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to ensure Islamic content is correctly represented within the AI system.

Translate scholarly requirements into clear, structured content and review criteria.

Help identify issues arising from how Islamic knowledge is retrieved, structured, or presented by AI.

Participate in testing and evaluation of new AI features and behaviors.

Provide clear feedback and recommendations to product and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Shariah, Islamic Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Strong grounding in Islamic studies and clear adherence to Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah.

Strong Arabic, including the ability to read and understand classical Islamic sources.

Good professional English, both written and spoken.

Strong research, analytical, and source-verification skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate sourcing.

Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, Word, structured templates, and datasets.

Interest in or experience with AI, chatbots, prompts, or AI-generated content.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate:

Has approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience, although strong candidates with different levels of experience may also be considered.

Is comfortable working across both Islamic scholarship and technology.

Notices when a source or claim is unclear, incomplete, or insufficiently supported.

Can identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential inaccuracies.

Knows when an issue requires further scholarly consultation.

Communicates problems clearly, constructively, and early.

Understands the importance of representing legitimate scholarly differences accurately.

Can maintain scholarly rigor while thinking about the needs of real users.

Is organized, proactive, analytical, and comfortable working in a technology-driven environment.
