Job description

Technician Recruiter (Skilled Trades & Industrial Services)

Introduction
Guardian Fire Services is building one of the country’s leading platforms for fire protection and life safety. Since 2022 we have brought more than a dozen owner-operated businesses into the Guardian family, giving each the resources and stability of a national organization while preserving the local identity and legacy their founders spent decades building. Backed by Investcorp and headquartered in Nashville, we are in the early innings of a national buy-and-build strategy in a large, highly fragmented, compliance-driven industry.

Position Summary

Guardian Fire Services is seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter with a proven track record of identifying, sourcing, recruiting, and hiring highly skilled field professionals. This individual will play a critical role in supporting our continued growth by building strong talent pipelines and delivering exceptional candidates across our operating companies.

We are looking for a true recruiter—someone who thrives on sourcing passive candidates, building relationships, and filling difficult-to-recruit skilled trade positions.

Preferred Industry Experience

Strong preference for recruiting within one or more of the following industries:

  • Fire Protection / Fire Life Safety
  • Fire Sprinkler
  • Fire Alarm
  • Mechanical / HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Pipefitting
  • Electrical
  • Industrial Construction
  • Commercial Construction
  • Industrial Services
  • Heavy Equipment
  • Manufacturing
  • Specialty Contracting

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recruit skilled technicians, inspectors, installers, fitters, foremen, designers, estimators, project managers, and service professionals.
  • Develop and maintain proactive talent pipelines for high-demand technical positions.
  • Source passive candidates through networking, referrals, social media, trade organizations, and direct recruiting.
  • Partner with Operations and HR leaders to understand workforce needs and hiring priorities.
  • Manage the recruiting process from sourcing through offer acceptance.
  • Build relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, military transition organizations, and industry associations.
  • Develop creative recruiting strategies for difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates across multiple geographic markets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience within skilled trades, industrial services, construction, or related technical industries.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting difficult-to-find field technicians and trade professionals.
  • Experience recruiting passive candidates through direct sourcing and networking.
  • Strong understanding of skilled trade labor markets.
  • Excellent interviewing, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven "hunter" mentality with exceptional sourcing skills.
  • Ability to consistently build qualified talent pipelines before positions become vacant.
  • Strong urgency and sense of ownership.
  • High activity levels and outstanding follow-through.
  • Creativity in identifying and engaging passive talent.
  • Data-driven recruiting with measurable hiring results.
  • A passion for helping field operations build exceptional teams.

This is not a "post-and-pray" recruiting role. We are seeking a recruiter who knows how to identify, engage, and attract the best technical talent in the industry through proactive sourcing, networking, and relationship building.
