Job description

This is a remote position.

Wir suchen per sofort oder nach Vereinbarung einen Software Engineer, die/der ein bestehendes, von ETH juniors entwickeltes Tool zur Dokumentation und Analyse von CO2-Emissionen aus Flugreisen um zentrale Zusatzfunktionen erweitert. Im Kern geht es darum, zusammenhängende Flugreisen automatisch als «Trips» zu erkennen, relevante KPIs automatisiert zu berechnen und das Tool um neue Datenquellen und Verwaltungsfunktionen zu ergänzen. Du arbeitest eng mit zwei Projektleitenden von ETH juniors sowie direkt mit der Ansprechperson auf Kundenseite zusammen und trägst die technische Umsetzung von der Konzeption bis zum Rollout.

Deine Aufgaben
  • Einarbeitung in den bestehenden Workflow und die Codebase, Präzisierung der Anforderungen und Konzeption der Zusatzfeatures inkl. Entscheidungslogik für die Trip-Erkennung
  • Erweiterung des Backends: Ergänzung des Datenmodells inkl. Migration sowie Anpassung aller drei Parser zur Extraktion der Kostenfelder
  • Implementation und Validierung der automatischen Trip-Erkennung anhand historischer Daten
  • Implementation der automatischen KPI-Berechnung sowie weiterer Features
  • Lokales Deployment und Testphase, Bugfixing, Dokumentation der Ergebnisse sowie Abschlusspräsentation


Requirements

  • Hintergrund in Informatik, Data Science, Computational Science oder einem verwandten Studiengang
  • Sehr gute Python-Kenntnisse und Erfahrung im Umgang mit Datenverarbeitung (z.B. pandas, Excel-Parsing)
  • Verständnis für Datenmodellierung und Datenbanken sowie Erfahrung mit Migrationen von Vorteil
  • Fähigkeit, dich selbstständig in eine bestehende Codebase einzuarbeiten und diese sauber weiterzuentwickeln
  • Strukturierte, analytische Arbeitsweise und ein Auge für saubere, wartbare und dokumentierte Lösungen
  • Selbstständigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit in der Zusammenarbeit mit Kundinnen und Kunden
  • Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
