About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Director, Product & Solutions to lead our combined Product and Solutions team, connecting company strategy, customer insight and technical judgement to deliver focused priorities, high-quality products and excellent customer experiences.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer (CPO), this is a hands-on role. As the CPO's 2IC, you'll set the pace for prioritisation and delivery, working closely with customers, engineering, commercial and our executive team. 

Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:

• Set Zepto’s product direction: Turn company strategy and customer reality into a clear, coherent product direction that every Zeptonian understands and gets behind, owning portfolio sequencing and the hard calls on trade-offs.
• Build one integrated team: Bring Product and Solutions together as one customer-informed team, making ownership visible and ensuring solutions engineering input shapes product decisions as early as customer insight does.
• Create operating rhythm: Establish a lightweight operating cadence that improves decision speed, focus and delivery predictability, removing ambiguity and unblocking work across the organisation.
• Own the escalation path: Support world-class demos, proof of concepts and technical discovery, and step in on complex customer implementations that need deeper architectural or executive support.
• Coach and grow the team: Develop a high-agency team of product and solutions professionals, hiring against a high bar for ownership, technical capability and customer understanding, and building a credible senior IC path.
• Stay close to the work: Personally own at least one difficult, high-leverage problem at a time, and represent the CPO and Zepto at conferences, on panels and in public as required.
• AI Adoption & Process Scalability: Play a hands-on role in integrating AI into how we work — embracing the setup, documentation, and cross-team alignment of AI tools so our processes are scalable, structured, efficient and built to last beyond any one person.

About You:

You see ambiguity as something to resolve, not something to wait out. You form a view, make the next decision, involve the right people and move - oftentimes without waiting for a complete brief, perfect data or permission to investigate a problem. You know the difference between a sensible technical trade-off and a dangerous shortcut, and you know when to bring in a deeper specialist.

Specifically, we’d welcome any candidate who has the following experience:

• Material experience across both product and solutions / technical delivery functions in a technically complex environment. Payment’s experience is a bonus.
• A track record of taking products or significant product areas from problem definition through delivery and iteration, and owning the outcome - not just the process.
• Enough technical fluency to operate credibly among engineers: comfortable with GitHub branches and pull requests, and using AI-enabled tools to investigate how a system works.
• Confidence discussing architecture, security, performance, reliability, APIs, data flows and integration patterns - in live customer troubleshooting as much as internal design reviews.
• Experience managing and developing senior people, including growing someone into a materially larger role.
• Strong product judgement, commercial range, and clear written and verbal communication with a bias toward decisions and action.

While Zepto is a remote-first organisation with a national footprint, our strong preference is for this role to be based in Sydney. You’ll still enjoy the flexibility of our remote-first model and be supported by great leadership to learn and grow, with the added benefit of our Sydney co-working hub for those who value a hybrid environment or for that social connection.
