Job description

Junior Data Scientist β€” TensorOps

TensorOps is an AI engineering company helping organizations turn AI into real production systems. We work across AI, data, agents, and software, and we operate as an AI-native team where tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT are part of the everyday workflow.

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist who is curious, analytical, entrepreneurial, and excited to grow quickly.

This is not a role focused on manually writing code all day. We work heavily with AI coding agents, but you still need to understand what the analysis is doing, recognize when something is wrong, fix code, and deep dive into data and logic when things break.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze data from AI systems in the context of real business problems.

  • Use AI coding agents to build analyses, data pipelines, transformations, and internal tools.

  • Validate AI-generated code and analytical results rather than treating them as a black box.

  • Debug problems across code, data, assumptions, and business logic.

  • Define schemas, processes, and ETL pipelines.

  • Work with structured and unstructured data.

  • Turn analysis into clear business insights and recommendations.

  • Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, customers, and leadership.

What We’re Looking For

This role is suitable for people with backgrounds in:

  • Data Science

  • Computer Science

  • Biotechnology / Bioinformatics

  • Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines

You should have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • A good understanding of Python and SQL.

  • The ability to read, understand, and fix code.

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and investigating unexpected results.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly.

We especially value people with an entrepreneurial mindset who take ownership, look for ways to improve things, and are interested in growing beyond an individual contributor role.

Strong performers will have the opportunity to grow into project leadership, customer-facing roles, team management, and broader business responsibility.

If you want to work with modern AI systems, learn fast, solve difficult problems, and grow into a leadership role, we’d love to hear from you.
