Job description

Director of Paid Growth

About the Company

Paul Fredrick is a heritage menswear brand with a mission to inspire men to express their personal style through our premium, high-quality menswear. Our clothes help our customers to stand out, earn compliments, and feel their best throughout all the moments of their active lives.

Our history began in 1951, when the Fleetwood Shirt Company was established as a respected maker of high-quality private label dress shirts for America’s premium menswear retailers. In 1986, we launched the Paul Fredrick brand to sell directly to consumers with a bold idea: deliver impeccably made dress shirts straight to the men who care how they show up. Since then, we have grown into a full collection of elevated essentials and fashion, all crafted with character and built to fit.

With an engaging and collaborative work environment, we embrace a culture of curiosity, customer focus, and continuous improvement. As we approach the 40th anniversary of the Paul Fredrick brand, we are charting an exciting path to growth with new channels and marketing activations, and we are looking for passionate and curious people to join our team.

Position Summary

The Director of Paid Growth owns the strategy, performance, and day-to-day management of the company's paid marketing channels, including paid social and paid search, with a central focus on driving new customer growth. This role is charged with identifying and introducing new growth initiatives: new marketing channels, platforms, and partnership opportunities (including potential new marketplaces), owning the relationship, seeing each one through full setup, and proving its worth with clear reporting and follow-through action. The role also leads marketing attribution and analytics platform strategy, drives the team's reporting and business-review cadence, and manages the paid agency relationship. The ideal candidate pairs strong analytical and platform expertise with the people-management, cross-functional collaboration, and entrepreneurial instincts needed to consistently find and scale new sources of growth while mentoring a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Social & Paid Search Strategy

  • Own paid social and paid search strategy and performance, driving demand growth and new customer acquisition across channels (including paid marketing within marketplaces)
  • Collaborate with our marketing agency daily to make strategic changes based on real-time business results
  • Serve as the primary point person for paid social and search, owning creative direction based on performance, regular performance check-ins, and market awareness
  • Bring forward proactive, market-informed ideas and creative suggestions within the creative workflow, while reacting to current performance

New Growth Initiatives

  • Identify and evaluate new marketing channels, platforms, and partnership opportunities, to drive new customer growth
  • Own each new initiative end-to-end: source the opportunity, own the partner/vendor relationship, and see it through full setup and launch
  • Establish key KPI’s for each new initiative with clear reporting, using results to inform whether to scale, iterate, or sunset
  • Partner with IT, merchandising, CRM and the broader marketing team as needed to support the technical setup and execution of new initiatives
  • Focus on Brand marketing roll outs and iteration in support of growth initiatives

Creative Collaboration

  • Partner with the creative team on the wireframing and creative handoff process between digital marketing and creative inclusive of digital (static and video) and direct mail
  • Continuously work with the creative team to ideate new concepts, iterate on best performers, and plan out season launches
  • Own an asset management calendar for all forms of marketing, most prominent for Paid Social, that will keep our Brand assets strategic and planned out for optimal spend performance and seasonal timing

Reporting & Analytics

  • Partner with data analytics team to oversee the analysis of attribution platforms across all digital marketing channels
  • Own daily performance monitoring across paid channels (including paid marketing within marketplaces) and take action where needed
  • Work within platform reporting structures (e.g., Power BI, Pacvue, attribution tooling) to support effective team reporting
  • Lead the team's reporting and business review cadence, including Monthly Operating Review (MOR), Promo Planning, weekly business reviews, and event recaps
  • Continue evolving reporting from data delivery into clear storytelling that connects performance to overall business impact and next steps

Team Leadership & Agency Management

  • Coordinate paid agencies and channel reps to consistently improve channel performance
  • Lead the team through process and reporting changes, adapting structures as responsibilities and priorities evolve
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in paid digital marketing (paid social and paid search), ideally in ecommerce or retail, with experience driving new customer growth
  • Track record of identifying, launching, and scaling new marketing channels, partnerships, or growth initiatives from the ground up
  • Hands-on experience with marketing attribution and analytics platforms (e.g., Northbeam, Triple Whale, Rockerbox, GA4) and BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Pacvue)
  • Proven people management experience, with a track record of developing direct reports and building ownership within a team
  • Experience managing external agencies and channel partner relationships
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate performance data into clear, actionable storytelling for broader business audiences
  • Ability to utilize co-work/agentic AI to analyze results, impact ad creation/delivery, drive creative ideation, and draw conclusions/actions.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Flexibility and adaptability to a constantly changing digital landscape and evolving internal processes
  • Strong critical thinking, with the ability to build systems and reporting that free up time for meaningful analysis
  • Effective problem solver, comfortable navigating ambiguity and inconsistencies in a growing tech stack
  • Proactive communicator who shares a point of view and brings forward ideas rather than waiting to be asked
  • Curiosity and interest in staying ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging AI-driven marketing technology
  • Entrepreneurial, test-and-learn mindset, comfortable evaluating and standing up new channels or partnerships in the absence of an established playbook
