Why This Role Is a Great Opportunity

ACT Entertainment has spent over 40 years driving innovation in the entertainment industry — and we're growing. This role is fully remote, giving you the flexibility to work from home while still owning a highly visible seat at the table. You'll report directly to the CFO, partner with executive leadership across the company, and build the inventory accounting function from a position of real influence. If you want autonomy, a role that stretches you, and a clear path to grow into broader financial leadership, this is it.

What You'll Get

  • Fully remote work — work from anywhere in the U.S., with light travel (up to 25%) to visit warehouse sites, support audits, and partner with operations teams in person.
  • Direct line to the CFO and a genuine seat on the Finance leadership team — your work shapes company-wide decisions, not just a single department.
  • Ownership of a critical, high-visibility function: you'll become the company's go-to expert on inventory accounting across multiple divisions and warehouse locations.
  • A growth runway — this role is explicitly built as a foundation for future leadership opportunities within Finance.
  • Variety and challenge — no two days look the same, spanning costing, ERP process improvement, audits, and cross-functional partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.
  • A stable, established company — 40+ years in business with a track record of sustainable growth in the entertainment industry.

Position Summary

The Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager leads the accounting, valuation, costing, and financial management of inventory across ACT Entertainment's multiple business divisions and warehouse locations. You'll serve as the company's subject matter expert on inventory accounting, partnering with Operations, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain, Controllers, and Finance to ensure inventory is accurately valued, properly controlled, and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role suits someone who thrives under pressure, takes ownership, and enjoys solving complex operational and financial challenges — a confident communicator with a proactive, get-it-done leadership style.

What You'll Do

  • Own inventory accounting and financial reporting across multiple divisions and locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation using standard cost, average cost, and other appropriate methodologies.
  • Manage cost rolls, standard cost updates, cost adjustments, and inventory revaluations.
  • Analyze purchase price variances, manufacturing variances, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure inventory subledgers reconcile to the general ledger.
  • Partner with warehouse and manufacturing managers on physical inventories, cycle counts, inventory movement, and accuracy.
  • Partner with Controllers to ensure accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Lead and support physical inventory counts and inventory audit activities.
  • Develop and improve inventory controls, policies, and costing procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory reporting schedules.
  • Support external auditors with inventory-related audit documentation.
  • Recommend process improvements within ERP systems and inventory workflows.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 25%) to support warehouse operations, inventory audits, ERP implementations, and finance initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
