Job description

Business Analyst

Location: Remote

Industry: Technology and Public Safety Solutions

Mutualink is a leading provider of advanced communication and collaboration solutions designed for public safety, emergency management, and homeland security. We pride ourselves on innovation, reliability, and a commitment to making communities safer. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Business Analyst to serve as the administrative and analytical backbone of our Operations team as we continue to grow.

The Business Analyst is a central support role within the Operations department, responsible for keeping the department's day-to-day administration, records, reporting, and coordination running smoothly. Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will maintain accurate data across our systems, produce the reports leadership relies on, document and streamline administrative workflows, and keep information moving across teams. This role is well suited to a dependable self-starter who takes ownership of the details, communicates clearly, and delivers friendly, responsive, and helpful service. The position is administrative and analytical in nature; comfort working in a technology environment is valuable, but deep technical expertise is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Operations Support

  • Own the day-to-day administrative operations of the department, keeping records, files, and documentation accurate, organized, and current.

  • Maintain customer, order, and case data in Salesforce, ensuring completeness and consistency.

  • Prepare correspondence, meeting agendas, notes, and follow-ups; coordinate schedules and cross-team requests.

  • Process and track Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), and support order and vendor coordination.

  • Maintain trackers, shared files, and standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation in Google Drive and Google Sheets.

Reporting & Data

  • Build, run, and distribute Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) reports using Crystal Reports and Microsoft Access databases.

  • Organize and analyze data in Google Sheets to support operational decisions and management reporting.

  • Compile clear, accurate summaries that give leadership visibility into department activity and status.

Project & Process Support

  • Track tasks, tickets, and documentation in Salesforce, JIRA, and Google Sheets to keep projects and administrative work visible and on schedule.

  • Document existing administrative processes and recommend simple improvements that increase efficiency and consistency.

  • Support the Project Delivery Manager with coordination, scheduling, and administrative follow-through across projects.

Customer & Cross-Functional Service

  • Provide friendly, responsive, and helpful support to internal teams and external customers.

  • Act as a coordination point across Operations, Sales, and Support to keep requests and information moving.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Quickly develop working familiarity with Mutualink's products and business, and travel occasionally as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative, operations support, or business analyst role.

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce.

  • Familiarity with JIRA or a comparable project/issue-tracking tool.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access databases and Crystal Reports.

  • Proficiency with Google Drive and Google Sheets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Strong customer service orientation — friendly, responsive, and helpful.

  • Self-starter who works well with little supervision and can manage multiple priorities.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certification.

  • Two-year (associate) college degree or higher.

  • Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).

  • Military or public safety experience.

  • Comfort working in a technical environment — basic familiarity with RF, network, or system concepts, or the ability to read schematics, is a plus but not required.

Why Mutualink?

  • Be part of a forward-thinking company dedicated to advancing public safety and emergency communication solutions.

  • Opportunities for career advancement and professional development within a growing organization.

  • Contribute to projects that have a direct impact on community safety and emergency response.

  • Attractive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package (Health, Vision, Dental and Group Life Insurance, 401K Plan, PTO, and Holiday Pay), a great team to work with, and a mission you can be part of that will absolutely make a difference. This position offers a fixed annual base salary. Promotional and advancement opportunities are available to reach top pay.

For informational purposes only, the salary range for a Business Analyst begins at $65,000, with a mid-range of $73,500 and a top pay of $82,000. This pay range can be modified at any time at the sole discretion of the Company and does not include variable, performance-based compensation which can be applicable.
