Job description

About the Job

Mars Men is one of the fastest growing DTC brands in the US, achieving $100M run rate in less then 18 months. Recently backed by L Catterton, Mars Men is positioned to become the leading men’s health brand in the supplement space. We operate across DTC, retail, and emerging channels, and are entering our next phase of growth as we continue scaling the business.

As our Email/SMS Designer, you'll own how every message we send looks. You'll design campaigns and lifecycle flows for Klaviyo, design SMS and MMS creative for Postscript, and build the modular system that lets a small in-house retention pod ship a weekly calendar without drifting off brand. You'll work alongside a retention copywriter and an implementer who builds what you design, on a channel that is directly accountable for email and SMS revenue.

What You'll Do

  • Design email campaigns and lifecycle flows, from concept through final annotated handoff, for a program that ships on a weekly cadence
  • Translate copy docs into mobile-first layouts that hold hierarchy, legibility, and CTA prominence on a phone screen
  • Build and evolve the Mars Men email design system, including modular blocks, templates, type scale, and asset library, so the pod moves faster and stays on brand
  • Design SMS and MMS creative for Postscript that reads in the message preview and stays congruent with the email it supports
  • Design A/B variants against a stated hypothesis across hero treatment, module order, CTA style, and layout density, then fold what wins back into the system
  • Hand off to the implementer with specs that survive production, and sign off on the built version across Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, and dark mode before it ships
  • Partner with Brand and Performance Creative so retention stays visually congruent with paid social and site, and adapt winning ad creative into email and SMS

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years designing email for a DTC or ecommerce brand, with a portfolio of campaign and flow emails you personally designed
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and design systems you have maintained over time
  • Fluency in mobile-first direct response layout, with a clear point of view on hierarchy, scannability, and where the CTA belongs
  • Working knowledge of email rendering constraints across Gmail, Apple Mail, and Outlook, plus dark mode, image weight, and accessibility basics, so what you design can actually be built
  • Hands-on familiarity with Klaviyo or a comparable ESP, enough to design within what the editor can produce and to review a build critically
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environmentSelf-starter who takes ownership, embraces feedback, and thrives in high-growth teams
