Software Developer II

The Opportunity:

As a Software Developer, you will work as part of a collaborative engineering team to design, develop and maintain high-quality software that powers our products and platforms. Depending on the team, you may work across backend services, web applications, APIs, data platforms or other components of our technology ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to work on complex technical challenges at global scale, contributing to products used by millions of people and organisations around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software and services.

  • Contribute to the development of scalable, reliable and maintainable applications and platforms.

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

  • Write clean, efficient and well-tested code following engineering best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality.

  • Troubleshoot, debug and resolve technical issues across applications and services.

  • Contribute to the performance, scalability, reliability and observability of our systems.

  • Participate in technical discussions, solution design and continuous improvement of our software and engineering practices.

  • Work with modern development, cloud and DevOps tools and practices, including automated testing and CI/CD.

  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge and contribute ideas that improve our products, technology and ways of working.

Job Qualifications:

  • Professional experience developing and maintaining software applications or services.

  • Strong programming skills in one or more modern programming languages.

  • Experience building scalable and maintainable software.

  • Familiarity with APIs, databases and distributed or cloud-based systems.

  • Understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, debugging and code quality.

  • Experience working with version control and modern software development practices.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or similar.

  • Experience with CI/CD, containerisation and DevOps practices.

  • Experience developing high-volume, distributed or highly scalable systems.

  • Experience with frontend, backend or full-stack development.

  • Familiarity with networking, telecommunications, connectivity, performance measurement or related technologies.

  • Experience working with data-intensive applications or platforms.
