Job Overview

Our client is a strategic financial firm that helps entrepreneurs build profitable, sustainable and scalable businesses. They believe finance is about more than keeping the books- it’s about turning financial information into meaningful insights that help business owners make better decisions.

They are looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team and take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of their U.S.-based clients.

This role would suit a detail-oriented, proactive and tech-savvy bookkeeper who takes ownership of their work and enjoys working closely with clients. You’ll play an important role in ensuring financial data is accurate, reporting is delivered on time, and clients receive a high standard of financial support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for U.S.-based clients.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Process invoices, payments, payroll and expense reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and maintained in line with relevant accounting principles and requirements.
  • Work closely with clients and internal team members to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Proactively identify discrepancies, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify ways to improve bookkeeping processes, reporting and overall efficiency.
  • Adapt to and make effective use of cloud-based accounting systems and financial technology.
  • Provide responsive, professional and client-focused support.

Compensation

Competitive remuneration, commensurate with experience.

Working Hours

Remote / flexible working environment, with availability to collaborate with U.S.-based clients and team members as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant bookkeeping certification, diploma or qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 2+ years' bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong experience using QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting software.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with U.S.-based clients or across international time zones.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work.
