Job description

Overview:

BerryDunn is seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant to join our Outsourced Accounting Services Practice Group (OASPG). You will be responsible for providing support to our OASPG team across a wide range of industries and will handle confidential and sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner and demonstrate organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.  You will have the ability to prioritize/reprioritize daily work, work independently and in a team and the capacity for individual technical growth. 

 

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.

You Will:
  • Process payables for multiple clients and produce payable reports
  • Process/maintain receivables for multiple clients and make deposits
  • Record bank and credit card transactional activity in various accounting software packages
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain/monitor cash balances
  • Produce basic workpapers, financials and trial balances.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and maintaining vendor records.
  • Correspond with vendors/clients regarding payment status, open invoices etc.
  • Maintain electronic vendor files and ensure W-9 compliance.
  • Know and understand the reason for the firm's policies and procedures
  • Establish effective work schedules
  • Communicate timely and effectively with clients and team members
  • Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
You Have:
  • Associates degree or working on a Bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of the general ledger, basic financial statements and adjusting entries
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong technology skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to stay ahead of projects and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-based, collaborative environment
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Compensation Details:

The hourly rate for this role is $28.00-$32.00 per hour. This rate range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final rate may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The hourly rate for the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
