- AI: Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-powered application development
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting Medical & Scientific Affairs.
- Build modern, responsive user interfaces using Next.js and React.
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Design, query, and integrate data using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Integrate Generative AI and LLM capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Build applications that can leverage scientific literature, real-world evidence, and other structured and unstructured information.
- Develop AI-enabled solutions for research, information retrieval, summarization, knowledge discovery, and decision support.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, AI professionals, product/business partners, and Medical & Scientific Affairs stakeholders.
- Translate business and scientific requirements into practical, scalable software solutions.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging AI technologies and development approaches.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to sound engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of professional software engineering/full-stack development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
- Experience with React, with Next.js strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with Python.

- Experience working with APIs and integrating external data or services.
- Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models, or AI-powered application development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where requirements and technologies may evolve quickly.
Generative AI Experience
The successful candidate will have experience or meaningful exposure to using Generative AI and Large Language Models in software applications.
Relevant experience may include:
- Building applications powered by LLM APIs.
- Integrating Generative AI capabilities into web applications.
- AI-powered search and information retrieval.
- Question-answering or knowledge-management applications.
- Automated summarization or document analysis.
- Prompt engineering and LLM interaction design.
- Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Working with embeddings, vector search, or knowledge bases.
- Evaluating the accuracy, quality, and reliability of AI-generated outputs.
The ideal candidate does not need to be a machine-learning researcher. This role is focused on engineering and deploying useful applications that leverage AI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Next.js.
- Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience developing production applications using Generative AI/LLMs.
- Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or AI-powered search.
- Experience with cloud-based application development.
- Experience working with healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience working with scientific, medical, clinical, or real-world evidence data.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related technical discipline.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a software engineer first and an AI enthusiast second.
The strongest candidates will have solid full-stack engineering fundamentals and be comfortable working across the frontend, backend, database, and AI layers of an application.
They should be curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning new technologies. They will work closely with business and scientific stakeholders to understand complex problems and turn them into practical technology solutions.
