Job description

Position Summary

The Vice President, Acute Sales is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy for the Pharmaceutical Distribution Acute sales team, driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and margin improvement. This role requires a visionary leader who can mobilize their sales executives, influence enterprise-wide initiatives, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The VP will ensure alignment with organizational goals while fostering a culture of performance, engagement, and innovation.

Territory: East Region of the United States

This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Health Systems & Provider Distribution Services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the Acute Care business to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Lead a large, geographically dispersed sales team, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and customer needs.
  • Drive new product and service launches, ensuring successful adoption and market penetration.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with key decision-makers within current and prospective health systems, GPOs, and key external stakeholders.
  • Oversee complex deal development and negotiation, ensuring profitable structures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and manage operating budgets, forecasting, and business planning to achieve business financial goals.
  • Design and execute compensation plans that drive performance and align with business objectives.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, including sales process redesign and go-to-market strategies.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain diverse talent, creating robust succession and development plans.
  • Foster engagement and create a compelling vision that inspires followership across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or commiserate experience preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare sales, with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability. Experience in Pharmaceutical Distribution preferred.
  • Experience leading multi-regional teams and managing complex customer relationships.
  • Established relationships with acute care health systems within the assigned territory preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational change.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with health systems, GPOs, and regulated environments.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and lead without authority when necessary.
  • Ability to travel 50% within the territory; work from home or corporate office when not traveling.

Anticipated salary range: $166,300 - $255,700
