Are you passionate about building reliable Back-end systems and solving complex engineering challenges at scale? We are looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join a high-impact cybersecurity project focused on protecting applications from automated attacks and malicious traffic.

You will become part of a small autonomous engineering team working with a large ecosystem of services, including legacy and modern distributed systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy technical ownership, architecture improvements, and influencing product direction through strong engineering practices.

Our Customer is a global cybersecurity company delivering advanced digital protection solutions for individuals, businesses, and communities. The company develops products focused on identifying vulnerabilities, preventing cyber threats, and ensuring secure digital experiences across multiple industries. Their solutions operate at scale and protect high-traffic environments against modern security risks and automated attacks.

PROJECT

The project focuses on building and improving a platform that safeguards applications from automated attacks and malicious traffic. The engineering team works with approximately 35 Back-end services, combining legacy systems and modern distributed architecture. You will contribute to platform scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability while partnering closely with product and engineering teams.

Job Description

  • Independently own and navigate a large backend ecosystem consisting of multiple services with minimal ramp-up support
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Golang
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code while actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Analyze legacy and unreviewed code to identify technical debt, systemic issues, and architectural risks
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies, gaps, and areas for improvement, proposing and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical objectives and execute roadmap initiatives
  • Advocate for architectural improvements and negotiate technical decisions with peer engineering teams
  • Contribute to long-term platform evolution while balancing short-term business priorities
  • Ensure reliability and performance of high-load production systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Golang
  • Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and system design
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from planning and objective-setting to delivery and support
  • Proven experience working with high-load, high-traffic production systems
  • Solid understanding of scalable and maintainable backend architecture principles
  • Ability to independently work with large and unfamiliar codebases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues before escalation
  • Experience aligning technical solutions with business and customer needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate technical direction with engineering stakeholders
  • Upper-Intermediate English level

WILL BE A PLUS

  • Experience with C++, Objective-C, or Rust
  • Previous experience as a primary owner of a large-scale legacy system
  • Experience working within cybersecurity or infrastructure-focused products
  • Background in distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
