Video Editor – Remote Consultant
Location: Remote
Engagement: Contract / Consultant
Compensation: KES 60,000 per month
We're Looking for an Editor Who Understands That Great Editing Is More Than Cutting Footage A growing film and creative production company is looking for a highly talented Video Editor to join its creative team on a remote consulting basis.
This opportunity is for someone who is technically excellent, creatively sharp and highly independent. You will be trusted to take raw footage and creative direction and transform it into polished, engaging and professional video content.
We are not looking for someone who needs constant direction. We are looking for someone who can own the edit.
The Role You will be responsible for taking projects from raw footage through to final delivery, ensuring every piece of content meets a high creative and technical standard.
Edit professional video content for different projects, platforms and audiences.
Shape raw footage into compelling stories with strong pacing and visual flow.
Make independent creative decisions around sequencing, transitions, music and storytelling.
Perform colour correction and grading to achieve a polished cinematic finish.
Clean, mix and enhance audio where required.
Incorporate motion graphics, titles, captions and other visual elements.
Select appropriate music and sound effects to enhance the story. Interpret creative briefs and execute them with minimal supervision.
Review your own work critically before submission and ensure it is production-ready.
Strong professional experience in video editing and post-production.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent.
Strong storytelling and visual communication skills. Excellent understanding of pacing, composition, colour and sound.
A strong eye for detail and consistency.
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Strong judgement and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management and reliability.
The discipline to deliver high-quality work without constant follow-up.
A professional approach to handling feedback and revisions.
The Standard We Expect
This role will suit someone who is self-driven and takes genuine pride in their craft.
You should be able to receive a brief, understand the desired outcome, determine how to execute it and deliver a polished final product without needing someone to walk you through every step.
We value editors who understand that great work is in the details — the right cut, the right pause, the right music cue, clean audio, consistent colour, purposeful transitions and a final product that feels intentional from beginning to end.
