Job Description
 

The Senior Manager, Safety & Quality drives operational excellence and compliance across FuzeRx. Acting as the central operational quality leader, this role partners to transform complex regulatory guidelines into seamless, automated workflows that safeguard data integrity, quality, safety, and end-to-end patient experiences. You will fully own and continuously optimize the pharmacy’s Quality Management System (QMS), scaling robust standard operating procedures (SOPs), Corrective & Preventative Action (CAPA) management, and proactive audit readiness to support our fast-moving, outcomes-focused ecosystem. Partnering dynamically across our cross-functional operations, product, tech, enterprise support, and clinical teams, you will leverage real-time analytics and root-cause metrics to mitigate risk, build next-generation standards, and cultivate a proactive culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management

  • Own FuzeRx’s quality management systems (QMS), including for supply chain and manufacturing partners
  • Develop and maintain quality policies, SOPs and work instructions
  • Ensures recalls, deviations, CAPA, complaints, adverse events and investigations are documented, tracked and resolved in conjunction with regulatory team and appropriate leaders
  • Facilitate inspection and audit readiness in conjunction with compliance across operations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the quality culture
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence

Quality Analytics & Reporting

  • ​Manage the compilation, accuracy, and timely submission of quality metrics to external bodies, including licensing boards, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and accreditation organizations (e.g. URAC)
  • Design, track, interpret and present comprehensive quality dashboards, error rates, and performance KPIs to senior leadership
  • Monitor and react to trends across medication errors, near misses, dispensing quality, patient complaints, shipping quality, and customer-specific quality metrics
  • Analyze data to identify recurring issues and emerging risks
     

Operations Excellence and Patient Experience

  • Conduct root cause analyses for quality events and operational failures
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to initiate and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).  
  • Recommend and lead process improvements that reduce variation and improve quality and safety
  • Measure the effectiveness of implemented quality improvements
  • Analyze patient complaints and satisfaction trends, identify operational drivers impacting patient experience
  • Develop recommendations that improve service quality, turnaround times and patient outcomes and partner with Customer Experience teams to reduce repeat issues

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, operations, clinical services, enterprise and regulatory affairs teams
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on quality best practices
  • Hire and develop team members, manage performance of the team
  • Provide direct oversight, strategic direction, and daily management to the quality team
  • Cultivate a robust culture of continuous learning by building clear career paths, providing regular mentorship, and conducting performance reviews and fostering development

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy and a Licensed Pharmacist (RPh) in good standing with a state Board of Pharmacy and any non-resident licenses as dictated by business strategy
  • 5+ years of management experience in quality, or compliance functions
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare supply chain quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, DEA, cGMP, and state pharmacy regulations
  • Experience conducting and managing CAPA and implementing QMS processes
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner across supply chain, operations, clinical, and regulatory teams
  • Proficiency in standard tools and systems such as GSuite, Slack, and digital quality management systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with proven ability to influence stakeholders and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and scaling a technical or clinical quality team
  • Experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment; a self-starter, who takes initiative, ownership and drives towards results
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise internal and external communication and action
  • Formal process improvement training (Lean / Six Sigma)
  • Formal quality certification
  • Formal project management training / certification
     


 



Additional Information
 

Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $145,600-$182,000

Location Requirement: Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
