Location: Remote (based in Toronto, Canada)

Employment Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available

Salary: $25 - $35 USD per hour


At TauRx Therapeutics, our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals, carers, and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases. We are a pioneering organisation dedicated to developing treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders, focusing on early intervention to improve patient outcomes. We are seeking a diligent and skilled IT Support professional to join our team remotely. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure, providing vital technical assistance to our team as we work to address one of the world's greatest unmet medical needs.



 

Responsibilities



As a member of our IT team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support to our staff. Your primary duties will include:

 

  • Providing first-line technical support to all employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Responding to, diagnosing, and resolving technical queries in a timely and professional manner via remote tools, email, and telephone.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms.
  • Documenting support tickets and resolutions accurately within our helpdesk system.
  • Assisting with the setup and onboarding of new employees, ensuring they have the necessary equipment and access.
  • Escalating complex issues to senior team members when required, while maintaining ownership of the user's query.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of IT support documentation and knowledge-base articles.




 

Qualifications



We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical foundation and excellent interpersonal skills. Key qualifications include:

 

  • Proven experience in a remote IT support, helpdesk, or service desk role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) administration, including user management and application support.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • A relevant IT qualification or certification would be considered an asset.
